I printed the pieces for the 3rd link on my son's trailer. I pull him with my RC truck. There are lots of other printed parts but that's what I did today.

The axles are fixed at the moment. I need to do a little more work before the suspension is funtional. I just did a 3 mile shakedown run and everything seems good.

Does anyone know anything about 48v printing? Power supplies and motors are easy but the controller and heaters are more difficult. What boards support 48v?

Picked a Creality CR-10 up for a song from work and now I’m attempting my first print, I attempted starting it about 4 times and I finally got the bed close enough to the hot end (just under paper width) with the .2mm extruder.

I’m really looking forward to what all I can print.

    Lessons learned last night.
When printing via USB set laptop power setting to “never sleep when plugged in” so the laptop doesn’t fall asleep during the print and stop it.

I also don’t think my temp was high enough, it welded pretty well on the glass bed but the other layers seem too cold.

Also sometime around 1:00 this morning something messed up and I have a blob of a hot end instead of a finished part. Unfortunately I don’t know if the hot end will be salvageable so I’m probably going to order a few extra.

    I went full yolo and started building a Ratrig V-Core 3 400mm.

Currently working on tidying up the electronics and one thing I did was design and print a terminal cover for the power supply even though most of the terminals are only 24V.

I also drew up some fan mounts for the Raspberry Pi and the stepper drivers on the printer motherboard

Haha I need one of those but attached to my doorbell or front door.

A few weeks ago I installed a new bumper, but I needed some custom brackets to relocate a pump and also to mount some lights. All of these parts are printed in ASA, and some were sanded smooth and painted before installation.

First was an adapter to be able to mount the intercooler pump to some angle aluminum. The stock pump location was in the way of the winch and I didn't feel that angle aluminum by itself would be stable enough, not to mention the weird size I would need to space it far enough away from the radiator crossmember. I also didn't think a single piece 3d-printed bracket would be strong enough to hold up to years of driving, hence the hybrid approach. The bracket also has integrated zip-tie channels for securing the pump power cable.

The other bracket I needed was really more of a housing for the ARB signal/parking light. The stock bracket didn't work for a bottom mount application and was also a little flimsy. I could've just printed some spacers and called it a day, but the lights also have a lot of light spill out the sides so I decided to design and print a housing for them to control the spill. It's not pictured, but there are vents in the back of the housing to allow for air cooling and moisture egress.

Finally, I thought it would be weird to have the mounting bolts for those lights just sticking out from the face of the bumper so I printed a surround piece to go in front.

Here is what it looks like installed in the bumper.
