I never have been a fan of Makita, I had a few drills the burned out pretty quick. BUT I was given a Makita grinder a few years back and it has been a great tool. Sometimes I think it is hit and miss on all the major brands.

X2, they definitely want you to buy into one ecosystem, which I get for batteries and stuff.

But for a lot of tools I end up mix and matching based on how much I need it, how much the cost is, etc.

I don't do a lot of wood work so the Ryobi compound miter saw I have kicks ass at a level I'm not capable of appreciating and I have no need for a better one. Likewise i have a Craftsman circular saw for rough cuts and ripping. I'm sure both would die a quick death on an actual job site

You could probably do it with a couple batteries and some welding rod :burp:

People fix shit on the trail with a couple auto batteries and rod

Funny you mentioned Ryobi, they are like the Hyundai of tools. Not garbage but not top shelf. You put a little time in to taking care of them and they will last a while. I have a Ryobi miter saw that I use to cut metal and surprisingly it kicks ass at it.

A buddy and I call it Cryobi because contractors and tradesmen will bitch and moan about the brand when it gets brought up. But for the average person they make tools solid enough to last many DIY projects

What kind of blade are you using? It's amazing that the saw is holding up to that abuse

Between last night and today I have filled a 55 gallon bin and 4 yard waste bags with mulched leaves... And there's still more to do. Calling it a day on that, though.

Just a 10inch DeWalt metal cutting blade.

They only cry until they need a tool and it's there.

It's crazy how it varies person to person. Did you also get the booster shot the same as your regular shots? Or did you mix brands?
