muffler balloon

    hey guys so i noticed the other day when i was checking my brakes that my muffler blew up like a balloon the top and bottom bowed out and the sides crinkled in also blued pretty well too, needless to say im pretty sure i have a restriction, little backstory i have a trd supercharger 2.5in pulley 7th injector uconn long tube headers and urd y pipe, i already blew out the stock toyota muffler i had before and i just got this walker quietflow not even a year ago i really dont want a high flow muffler i dont want a loud truck but looks like i dont have much of a choice now i just wanted to see what is the quietest higher flow muffler i can put on thanks in advance

    You can make it quieter with flow through mufflers, but since you deleted your cats, you’ll need at least two, but probably three to get it to a good sound level if the mufflers are straight through style. I run borla pro xs mufflers on my truck and I’ve been happy with them. Vibrant resonators also help with drone/raspiness/noise level, but a little less so than a straight thru muffler

    here’s a straight thru exhaust I recently built

    vibrant resonator>borla 3” in dual 2.5” out> borla 2.5” mufflers on the tail pipe. this is my daily and I am very happy with the noise level/sound

    I still have a cat but otherwise just a large Tanabe muffler with turndown before the axle. Sounds good Imo. Not to loud and no drone. Definitely was a problem before with strait through resonator and Flowmaster 044 muffler I believe.
