Rolling boil in 7 minutes from cool tap water...no wind. I rarely bring the big Trangia. The small Trangia 27 is too big for the Stanley French Press so a grate/rack is necessary.

Post frog press coffee is quite tasty using frog press bags. Some grinds still escaped but overall less cleanup. Looking forward to testing this out next week in the wild.

I've mentioned these little "lanterns" in the past and thought I'd share this trick. Use small office clips to expand the ability to put these up in situations when the carabiner won't work.

But they have selectable red, green, and blue options too.
    I dig these little lights.

I've been really happy with my Feathered Friends hummingbird sleeping bag. They are made in seattle. You pretty much tell them what you want and they make to order. I had them use an ultralight fabric and throw in a couple extra ounces of down overfill. Spendy, but I've used it on an AT and PCT thru hike in addition to a bunch of other trips. It's still going strong. I've had luck using an evernew appalachian cook setup for bikepacking. It's super light and packs small. Here in Oregon we normally can't use liquid fuel stoves during fire season, so my go-to is the msr pocket rocket. Simple and light.

I just purchased an Enlightened Equipment 50° revelation apex synthetic quilt, black Friday sale 20% off.

I plan to use this as a liner bag during winter hikes, weights only 11ounces, will help keep my down bags clean and being synthetic will be easy to clean.

Enlightened Equipment also makes some good stuff. I’ve had a quilt of there’s for years and put it through a lot. Still looks new!

I've got a couple western mountaineering bags, a quilted summer bag and the puma microfiber, a beefy winter bag. The puma saw significant use on my Peace Corps service in kazakhstan and was probably the best piece of gear I brought over. I'm now living in a cabin at Mt Hood, which brings a lot of those memories back. I picked up a winter weight feathered friends comforter a couple years back that is saving my bacon now on those cold mornings. Some people swear by quilts and a tarp, but I really need that sleeping bag for a good nights sleep.

For anyone interested in this I found it for $10 on slamazon right now. Over 50% off their "regular" price although when I bought it, it was $15.
It worked great on my last trip.
