Driving vehicles legally in Vancouver is something to strongly consider recently. VPD has taken a hard line on modified vehicles the last couple years. All thanks to some guy that decided to take his vehicle inspection ticket to the public and calling out the police. A coworker had to fix his son's Prelude because a cop didn't like his muffler and headlamp bulb being non stock OEM.

The LED headlights you have circled and referenced as being included on your truck are in fact correct as that is referring to DRL being LED. Its a bit deceptive thinking you're getting full LED headlights when it is only the DRL.

Sorry to bump a really old thread but I have a Canadian TRD Sport and am looking to go to OEM LED Headlights. The truck was imported to Canada, then bought by a dealer in Seattle and made its way to Phoenix, AZ

My question is, utilizing the much talked about harness, can I install the OEM LED Headlights and have no worries. My concern is with the always on DRL, the switchback turn signals won’t work

these are what I’m looking at
    81150-04300
    81110-04300

...or would the non Pro ones work better?

Using the adaptor harness that a few different vendors on TW have designed, the full LED OEM lights will work perfectly. You need that harness though.

Even just LED bulbs in the OE projector was a huge upgrade. I think I will upgrade to HID shortly though. Better output and produces heat. The lack of heat with the LED's has already caused my headlights to ice over a couple times.

I’d suggest you research lighting a lot more. Try the lighting section of this forum.

There have been numerous test documented on TW indication that 99% of drop in LED bulbs produce much inferior lighting to even the halogen projectors.

Additionally, both LEDs and HIDs produced a lot of heat, but in the wrong place. They produce heat at/near the bulb base. Neither LEDs or HIDs carry heat within the light beam itself, as halogens do. That’s the reason why EU vehicles require headlight washers when equipped with HIDs.

I am going by what I see on the road compared to halogen and the output is much better so I am a little confused by what you mean in regards to inferior lighting. The difference is massive. I still retain a nice crisp cut off and have not had a single person flash me which indicates I am not blinding anyone. People where I live are flash happy which I completely understand why.

I do understand I am not getting the best results compared to a dedicated LED or HID projector which I will explore later down the road. I would argue the heat comment all day long. I had projectors on my Nissan Titan which constantly froze over and got covered in snow and ice when I ran LED's. The snow and ice melted off better than the halogen bulbs when I ran HID's. I don't mean to come off as arrogant so I apologize if do. I am just curious on the matter.

I will do some more research as I am curious if our trucks can accept a simple projector swap in the OE housing like I have seen with other vehicles such as the Titan's.

This thread has a comprehensive overview: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-hid-vs-led-vs-halogen-h11-projector-headlights.589465/

But tl;dr: your eyes are deceiving you. Yes LED bulbs look (and are) brighter up close but when you actually measure how much light is thrown down the road they're worse than OEM bulbs. It's just all concentrated right in front of you.

I wanted to add the OEM lights to my truck too but after pricing them out at $1200 per unit……yes you read that right, $1200 per side from Toyota in Chilliwack there’s no bloody way I am paying $2400 for two lights. Frustrating seeing what they sell for in the US but up here we get hosed

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
Buy them in the states and get them shipped to the border, pay the same as the guys down south. Letterlock in Sumas will ship it to the Abbotsford office for a small fee.

I bet by the time we would get the these lights it would be darn near what we would pay here in Canada.

With exchange no, it's the duty we would pay to bring them across. When I bought my Tonneau cover I thought it would be cheaper going through the states. When I crossed the border and got hit with the duty, it was the same price.

Can you get away with installing it before crossing the border to avoid getting hit by the duty? "It was always like that sir..."
