Am I the only one who has been waiting, what, 17 years for this?
Did anyone else think there could have ever been a "prequel" for this series?
Im fucking stoked and am taking the day off for this... Ill probably watch it twice that day and be damn sure it's gonna be IMAX.

I watched the first Matrix while I was on deployment in the Persian Gulf. It was a bootleg DVD copy and the entire crew watched it on the flight deck on a giant sheet while out at sea. Hooked ever since.

And to be directed by Lana? Come on bro... it's gonna be a banger.
Pretty sure Keanu said at one time that he would not do another movie unless it was directed by the Wachowski sisters.

I’m definitely going to watch it but in the last few years with movies I’ve learned to keep my expectations low. The first one for me was probably one of the coolest movies ever but 2 and 3 honestly I enjoyed a lot less. I would love for this to be a great movie but most likely it’s just a grab for money with something that already has an established fan base but I really hope I’m wrong and it’s awesome.

 

Agreed. 2 was decent, 3 was a turd.
Hoping this one stays true to the origin and doesnt have a fucking rave dance scene.

 

If they actually care about the story and what it was it could be so good. I’m hopeful but will have to wait and see. Either way it will be fun I think.

 

I know a trailer is only a trailer, but have you seen both of the released trailers?

 

After Jupiter Ascending, I kinda lost any high expectations from the Wachowskis.

The first Matrix was great. 2 was OK. 3 rose to the level of "meh".

And anything after the Matrix trilogy they did has also been a "meh" with me.

Lots of grandiose promises of epic movie making (V is For Vendetta, Cloud Atlas, Speed Racer, the aforementioned Jupiter Ascending) and all kinda fell flat. Though I will admit that I liked parts of Speed Racer a bit.

So I have a bit of a wait and see attitude.

I really hope it's great as the Matrix is a series with tons of potential and we would all love to see Neo back in a good flick.

A few months ago I got my lady to watch the first 3. She had never seen them all.

I excited for the new one!

Saw one the trailers a month or two ago

 

Got my wife halfway through the first one thus far...

It wouldn't surprise me if the Wachosky brothers/sisters made Neo gay or trans to get their agenda across. I still like the action they direct but it's a bit to fluid at times.

 

How fluid? Like gender fluid? JK.

Gonna try to watch Resurrections today but I’m debating if I should watch it at home or in the theater.

 

I plan to see it once, at least, just because..... but they violated a key concept for me - there is only ONE Morpheus, and it ain't whoever this new guy is. It's like James Bond........ Connery is the One and Only, even though I do quite line Daniel Craig. But I really hate it when a new movie in a mega successful "group?" of movies comes out and a major character is obviously being played by a different actor. I don't know why Fishburn isn't in this one, maybe scheduling conflicts, maybe not enough $$$$$...... whatever. I just don't like it.

 

It was terrible. It was literally the worst movie I have ever seen. I was so disappointed and I went in expecting nothing so I don’t even understand how the hell that happened. The story was pointless and a complete rehash of the first one without it being awesome. If anyone really loved the first one and hasn’t seen this turd do yourself and a favor and don’t watch it. It’s trash and insulting as a fan. Even keanu didn’t want to be there and it shows. It’s dogshit. I hated it so much. So very very much.

 

that's about how I thought about it. Was close to turning it off after 30 minutes, but decided to finish the movie. 2.5 hours i'll never get back

 

This movie was a hot pile of absolute shit. Just fyi.

…and I’m a HUGE matrix fan, and have been forever. I didn’t even finish it…

 

it looked like John Wick walked onto the wrong set and just awkwardly stayed. So many things made no sense with zero explanation

 

When did the agents become storm troopers? That was such a bad movie. I'll continue to watch the first one and ignore the rest like always.

 

100% trash movie. Trash.
