With my birthday being mid December, Black Friday always seems like when I buy myself birthday presents. This year I did the wheels, tires and skid plate along with remote start. I'm still on the fence with the bronze wheels, but I took a chance. The installation facility told me that the staff was thinking the wheels did not look great, but by the time they were finished everyone was complimenting the look of truck. They even said the tires road better than any other All Terrain tire they have installed. We will see how it drives on the highway tomorrow, but through town I didn't notice much difference.

I went with 17" FN FX Pro wheels. Dustin was amazing there by the way! They are 17x8 with 0 offset. The tires ended up being TOYO Open Country A/T III that are 265/70R17. I also got the black spline lug nuts from FN wheels and they are spot on in my opinion.

The 0 offset is pretty much exactly what I wanted as far as tire poke. There is little to none so I won't be throwing debris up on the truck.

The ONE AND ONLY issue that I may have is that turned at 3/4 turn the front tires are very close to the mud flaps. I've tried some bumps while turning and didn't feel/hear any rub, but it's a little too close for me and I may be looking at some minor mods to give some more space for suspension travel.

From what the truck started with (18 x 6.5 factory Limited Wheels, spalsh guard and air dam) to where it looks now is a big change for me and I'm pretty happy with things so far.

Future things I'm going to look into:
    1. The front mudflap "almost rub."
This may be as simple as pulling the mudflaps, but I'm going to try to avoid that.
    2. Center Caps
I like the plain center caps, but they do look like they could use some sort of emblem or logo on them.

A buddy of mine bought those when I bought my countersteers from FN. He’s wheeled the hell out of them and they’re holding up great after 4 years.

    First off, happy birthday :cheers::drunk:

And second, the truck looks great. Nice choice.

Update how you find the tires. I have a brand new set of 265/70R17 Toyo ATIIII's sitting in the garage mounted on new wheels. I look forward to installing them on my truck in the spring.

So far... I love them. I'm coming from factory wheels and tires, so there is a slight tire whine, but it's so minimal compared to what I expected and have heard on previous brands. The ride is excellent. I can barely tell the difference between stock and these. The installer told me that they test drove it and they felt better than any other all terrain tire they install. Obviously I can't tell you about longevity or wear, but so far... Wonderful. Best part was the great price at holiday times. Bought them online at tirebuyer.com. they shipped direct to the installer I chose and gave me quoted prices on the install before I picked where to send them.

    Thanks!!

You'll be thinking about them all winter. They've been great so far. Everything I was looking for!

I have no lift and everything fits snuggly. I keep thinking I'm going to hear or feel some rubbing, bc it is tight, but so far nothing. Might look into a small lift in the spring. Are you lifted?

I have the lift ( Eibach Pro Truck Coilover Stage 2 kit with 1" Eibach Blocks for the rear ) sitting on top of the tires and wheels. It will all be done at the same time. You are right, I will be thinking about them all winter! Every time I am in the garage! Working in the cold sucks though... so I can wait.

I agree with every word. Just FYI, they are Nitto Tires. Made on the same line.

Also, a side note. There are American and Japanese variants. One of them... i dont remember which, has a more pronounced side wall.

Looks great IMO. Maybe some TRD centercaps and you can also install flatter aftermarket mud flaps that will clear that size tire easy. I have the same setup basically and it clears.

Looks great. I was debating bronze on my MGM also but in the end I think Dustin had black only in stock at the time and I didn’t feel like waiting.

I ended up getting decals for the center caps and I like them so far..a vendor here I believe

Looking at the same wheel and tire sizes, are you lifted or stock suspension? Do you think a slightly positive offset would help with that tire clearance? Trying to stave off a lift

I'm currently at stock suspension. I am starting to look at a small lift, but can't decide what route I want to go.
After taking off the front mudflaps I have really limited any rubbing to situations with a 3/4 turn and hitting a bump at more than 10 mph. It doesn't happen very often, but I know my driving, so...

INO: Going with a postive offset will not help unless you get it way out there. If you look at my pictures, when the wheel is at 3/4 turn the inside portion is closest on the rear side which is why I removed the mudflaps.

Got it. Hahaha yeah I know my driving too so I want to make sure I'm not hurting anything. So it seems that without lifting, 265/70/17 tires fit as long as you have a substantial positive offset?

positive offset means the wheels are closer to the strut. Negative means further out. I believe the FN wheels in 17 inch shown here have an offset of 0 on an 8 inch wide wheel

Honestly... I don't know that positive or negative offset is going to completely fix the rub. I'm quite happy with the O offset.

This is super helpful! I have a 2022 Sport coming in with the same size wheel. I am going to black out the exterior for a two-tone look on my Barcelona Red vehicle. So I bought the 17" TRD Pro matte black wheels (4Runner) and plan to upgrade the tires with the 265/70/17 KO2 tires.

Thanks for your before and after shot. It really is a night and day difference. I hope mine will be too.
