    denso makes 2 different sensors for our trucks since we have 2 o2 sensors.we have one sensor in front of the cat and one in behind which one do you want to replace.

    Check rock auto they will be a little clearer as to what you need. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure my sensor after the cat was the 9003

    I just ordered the (front)
    $135 Denso 234-9001 Upstream Air Fuel Ratio Oxygen Sensor with 10.6” 4-Wire Harness, for Auto Trans Equipped Vehicles
    Denso 234-9001 from Amazon and installed it 2 weeks ago and it has solved my CEL! (at 163K)
    I have the same truck 3.4 v6 2001 with an automatic tranny.
    FWIW
    a flexible box end ratcheting wrench (gearwrench) is helpful in getting the front O2 sensor off and on.
    and most people suggest ample amounts of PB Blaster to the studs and nuts with overnight soaking just in case things are rusted together.
    good luck as this is about a 30min job for the front sensor.

    what was the size on the flexible box end wrench. i need too pick one up. i did check rock auto, it shows both numbers. both it does not say which one is for an auto and which one is for a manual. had too too some research tonite after work!!!!!!!

    I think it was a 12 or 13mm.
    I picked up a whole set of the gearwrench ratcheting flexible box ends on sale for about $40. You may find an Oreilly's or Autozone that loans tools if necessary.
    However, I justify buying tools by calling the dealership and seeing how much they'd charge to do an O2 change out and then pay myself with $$ or tools!
    The dealership wanted $213 for the O2 sensor and $40 labor to install it. I spent about $90 on the sensor and $40 on the tools so I am still $80 ahead AND have a set of wrenches!
    I cleaned the MAF too and doing both, it seemed that my truck ran better (seat of the pants evaluation).
    The 231-9001 is for the auto tranny.
