    Do I have this correct?
Did I order the right harness from TacoToons for my 2022 Sport Premium without JBL?

My set up.. H/U to Memphis amp, using TacoToons harness, then adding from the amp rca outs to powered sub

Won't be using their line ins connects

Back of HU to amp In bridge...
RCA's from amp out to oem spkr harness....
RCA's out from amp to powered sub...

There is a extra purple set wires on the H/U out harness, it has me confused, can it be use a remote wire?

Is this all I need, and have I got this right? Thanks TW's

    Stock H/U?

Powered or passive sub? You indicate both.

*edit* I think I translated what’s there. Without seeing the color code chart, here’s what I can see.

I’m skipping the top plug, never played with a 2020 H/U. The 2 bottom cables, if you are correct, and they are speaker level outputs to amp, then for a mono amp, you only need one cable. To ensure you don’t kill your amp, make sure it can take a speaker level signal to the RCAs. Otherwise the signal will be too strong, probably kill the amp and sub, and be a nightmare to tune.

I pick the truck up tomorrow. Just going on what others on the forum are saying about the 2020 and up stock non JBL have all the speakers in one harness. Unlike my 17 where it has two harness for speakers to deal with. As for the sub, I'm picking up signal from amps rca output to the rockville powered sub

Okay. From amp L/R out to powered sub in is a pair of RCA patch cables, obviously in the right length. The amp, I assume is for the door speakers. Harness bundle at the top is probably, I’m guessing, front L/R speaker. As for whether it’s the “right” harness, only pulling the deck will give you a definitive answer.

Have to find a remote wire. There is a extra pair of wires on the outs from the HU harness. Nice to somehow use it as a remote wire to something

Hey, I'm actually going to be pretty much the same thing once my TT harness gets in.

I'm sure you've found it, but this thread is pretty helpful - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2020-key-amp-and-hideaway-installation-complete.658383/ There is a accessory wire out of the back of the stock HU, but a lot of guys say to just tap into the cigarette lighter for your remote.

The other thing I plan on doing is using the front speaker wires for all four doors by using the 2ch input setting on my amp. A few guys have done this and they say that it helps a lot.

Most harnesses I’ve worked with, the remote wire is either solid blue or blue w/ white stripe. I can’t see one in the pic, but that doesn’t mean it’s not there. There’s still quite a bit that’s bundled there. Take a look, my guess is if there is one, it’ll be on the larger black plug, but again that’s my guess. DDL has a good idea though, as the cig lighter is hot with the ignition on only. Would be perfect.

From my reading, the 2020+ HU has a plug (R51 in the thread I linked) for ONLY the speakers. This is the plug that the TT harness goes into, meaning the TT harness will not plug directly into a 12V source. So even if the harness has a remote wire, you'll have to splice somewhere.

Also, OP - does your amp have the signal sense or whatever its called? If it does, you don't necessarily need a remote turn on.

Interesting. I’ve not even been in a 2020+, so I’m going off of older styles. Good to know, thanks.:cheers:

I did read that somewhere before on my 17 about
Thanks for the link. I'll check it out. So then what I thought it's all in one harness, which makes it a easier install. As for going with the 2 channel route, are you doing this to get more volume out of the backs? And that will eliminate the fade option? And yes, you are right about the blue wire, and the cig lighter guys. I am just picking up the truck up as we speak.

I think the amp has a signal sensor and the power amp I know doesn't. Maybe tap remote from the amp the the powered sub

Yeah I'm doing it for more volume out of the rear doors. You can still fade left to right, but you won't be able to fade front to rear anymore.

My TT harness and amp came in today so I'm hoping to get those installed tonight or tomorrow.
