Amp installed now not voice command or call volume

So I added an amp to my stock HU by using an

$24 LP7-2 L.O.C. PRO Series 2-Channel Line Output Converter with Remote Turn On 4in. x 8in. x 1in.

LP7-2 LOC. Both the amp and the LOC are getting power from the battery. I used the ttunes harness to connect to the HU and to connect the amp back to the factory speaker connector.

It works great for radio, xm, and bluetooth (music) however there is no volume on the voice command menu (when I push the button there isnt a beep or anything) and there is no sound from phone calls (they can hear me so the mic is working).

I had seen a few posts about using a 2ch input on the amp to push the front speaker signal to all four doors and I went ahead and did that. Could that be the issue here?

 

My assumption is that you’re getting your audio signal from the rear speakers and not the front.

fade the radio all the way to the front and see what happens

 

I'll pull out the head unit tomorrow and double check all my wires. I think you might be right, because when I was checking the voltage output from the LOC at 100hz i was only able to get 0.75-ish volts with the gain maxed out, which seemed odd.

Initially I thought the LOC/amp were turning off, but I realized I can hear a little bit of output from the speakers even with the hu volume at zero which I'm pretty sure is the amp. I put the amp behind/under the hu so I can't check without pulling everything.

Yep you were spot on with the rear speakers. Fader to front and everything turns off. Glad I'm working from home today
