    Merry belated Cristmas, gang.

Got a light dusting in Sheridan, just enough to make having open diffs a little interesting. #lightsbeforelockers

Well my disk was indeed "backwards" per fsm. As noted by others often the clutch is mislabeled and mine was.

I do wonder as it's the same disk used in the 3rz but it is opposite orientation than the 5vz. Curious as to why it even matters. Near as I can tell it does affect how it gets clamped?

Either I'm fucked. Dad took my fly wheel to the machine shop a while ago. Was ready last Monday but forgot to get it. Shop doesn't open again until the 3rd. Ha so be a few weeks. Figure I'll get new OEM motor and tranny mounts too.

Once again, I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Big Dan for his help with my rear diff. The truck is repaired and back on the road.

There are now some better quality aftermarket ones that folks are reporting having more luck with. Unfortunately, they appear to be out of stock ATM. Here's the link I have:

I've heard good things about these metal ones. I've got one sitting in the back of my truck I need to install.

Otherwise, skip the cheap ones and go OEM, but they cost like $100 each.

I just use OEM. Not cheap. And make sure to keep the doors linkage clean and the actuator too. Makes a big difference.

You can probably be diligent about keeping them clean and run a cheap handle though.

The metal ones go out of stock fast. Seem popular. Haven't tried one though. Also not sure how much of it is true metal.

The important thing is to take some wd40 or another lube of your choice and lube the moving parts of the handle and the latch itself. I burned through a few handles before learning that. Current one is now a few years surviving.

I bet they’re the same thing going off the looks anyway.

Whatever coating they use doesn’t seem the best, my passenger side has already faded, I’m sure the drivers isn’t far behind.

but I can live with that.

Jesus Christ Colorado is burning to the ground.

    Scary shit.

(Maybe too many Californians moved there finally, brought their fires with them?)(too soon?)

Perfect timing. Fires are not the current threat in CA. More concern about the state floating away with all the rain… :tumbleweed:

    Is Wyoming full yet???

Alot of people don’t realize that winter (when its still dry) before the moisture hits is the driest the brush will be. And since there has not been snow to flatten the grass its all still standing vertical. Then add in the wind in a cold front and you have the perfect storm if a fire starts.

Some of the worst fires we have had in Nevada have been in the winter when a cold front was blowing in. CO is in a pickle.

It's funny how the roles are reversed on my end. The truck stays in the driveway and the others get point duty. Really impressed by our LR in the snow, it is hard to get it to slip!

How much did you guys end up with at your place?
