New guy here.

Hi all ,
Just got a 2002 Tacoma with 162k for $1700. It needs a whole new front bumper and lights as it was in a accident but did not damage the engine or radiator .
It needs a new steering wheel and I was just wondering if a 2006 one would work as I can get it for $50 with the airbag and it has the audio control.

Welcome! I'm not too sure if 2nd gen steering wheels are interchangeable with 1st gen steering wheels

Welcome to TW the beauty about Tacomas in general is that they're built to last. Take on restoration like a landscaping project, and do it in stages.

 

I had the same model but was 1999. That truck went well over 200k. Loved it! You got a good truck at a good price IMO.

Welcome to TW! Good deal you got on that!

 

I'm in the process of replacing the steering wheel and giving her a full tune up.
I still have to deep clean and detail the inside and outside. The last thing is to remove the front end and replace it with a new one ,new headlights and throw a light bar in the bumper gap.
I have a new touchscreen pioneer radio and seat covers , but taking it in stages.
I might put it on YouTube as a restoration project video.
