Yup stock manifolds, did the urd for better clearance and to keep the heat away from the transfer case, and really didn't have a shop willing to do the bypass.

Got a fakish series 50 flowmaster clone and large resonator and the rasp is gone. More of a deeper drone now but its much better than the tinny rasp sound. Went with the flowmaster clone since the shop said getting a real one was gonna be a wait and all in today was only $170 for the muffler, resonator, and turn down. Thanks for the input hope it helps others as well in future.

Question for you all, I've been getting DTC's for the P013C - Oxygen Sensor slow response - rich to lean bank 2 sensor two. I thought the back ones weren't monitored and it wouldn't turn the mil light on with this Y pipe but mine came on today. Am I crazy or are yours on as well? I know in Hp tuners for my camaro I could disable the mil for that dtc when I went straight pipes but is there anything I can do for the tacoma to disable it tripping the mil light? I was going to get one of those stand offs for the o2 bung to pull it out of the stream a little but wasn't sure if there were better options.

My setup is a little different since I'm running the blower but my check engine light hasn't come on for 7500 miles (or at all) since the Y-pipe install, is it possible you have a small leak causing problems?

I didn't recognize the code, then I saw you got a turd gen.. I'm not sure if they are monitored or not for those. What gaskets did you use? The URD gaskets are the only ones I've found to be worth anything as the parts store gaskets blow out pretty fast. The URDs squish and are not reusable so if you remove the pipe for any reason they will have to be replaced.

Thanks, Turd gen best gen lol, I was able to get a wrench in and tighten down even more on the driver side (bank 2), gaskets were the ones from URD that came with it, they have only been tightened when it was all put on. I'm missing my obdii tool atm to reset it to see if it comes back after a drive cycle but will report back. It was working fine only change has been adding the belly pan that finally came in and I think it might of hit the clamp on the cross over pipe a little. So I'll have to disassemble and check that out later this weekend.

Thanks everyone for the replies though, really wanted to make sure it wasn't something that going to throw codes but for only the one side to be reporting in an error its most likely a leak. Will report back findings. Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Forgot to post back but yea it just needed tightening and took a few trips and the light went out on its own. Thanks again for the help and being a sounding board to figure stuff out.

Finally warm enough to do some projects in the garage. :annoyed:

I chopped the 50 and put in a 70. I still have the Vibrant resonator on there as well. The sound/tone is similar to the 50 but it's probably 10% quieter.

I think it's safe to say if you want to do a Y pipe and have headers get the 70. If you have at least one set of cats the 50 would be enough.

Was there plenty of room for that 70?

I solved the Y-pipe rasp with the TRD exhaust. Sounds great now but I'll report back after I log a few more miles.

    2019 stock downpipes -> urd Y-pipe -> TRD exhaust

This was my solution after installing the spec u headers. I had an additional 18" cherry bomb before but it was a tad too quiet. The high rpm rasp and highway drone is still present but very subdued vs a straight piped axle dump.

Thrush turbo muffler and a short resonator from Amazon

Anyone have video/audio of this 5 cyl gurgle and top end rasp?

The gurgle is comparable to a cammed LS but substantially more subdued. The high rpm rasp almost sounds like the E46 BMW. Playing around with the exhaust these last few months resulted in some interesting sound outputs.

I also have the 3* camshafts which already changed the engine tone substantially before I did the Spec U headers.

I need to capture some video sometime (Video doesn't really portray the true lower gurgling tones) , many people ask me frequently how I get it to sound the way it does.

I'd be interested in hearing what you got. This is what mine sounds like at differing RPM's and speeds, of course I'm not running a URD Y pipe, but the Y pipe is super custom now.
