Usefull thread but think I'm going to have pros do the electrics. Wiring harness seem pretty cheap and I don't like hooking stuff up directly to battery.

Resurrecting this thread because I have similar questions.

I need to run several more wires through the firewall. The big grommet below and to the side of the Brake Booster is max'd out. I've already pushed several more wires and a small air tube through it and simply cannot add any more.

So the question is, are there any other grommets in the firewall that would be suitable for passing wires through?

And has anyone been brave enough to drill a hole and add a new grommet? If so, where exactly?

This is all fine & dandy.... Getting wire and through is easy shiat...
Cut that nipple end- use coat hanger from INSIDE cab to stab through the nipple- and then tape your wire end to it and pull it back through.... (whatever direction your trying to put wire through- just reverse the coat hanger entry method). Don’t use a fish tape for this- hanger is better & will hold where you put it.

A big plug end is the problem! Damn alpharex lights grrr.
I have to start over and slice that thing open like a poached buck in broad daylight... “nice little cuts” aren’t gonna get’er done. :|

To fish wires, I use a giant sized Cable Tie that is like 2-feet long and 3/8-inch wide. I cut off the end with the clip and then drill a 1/8-hole in it. I tie the wire through the hole and the push the pointy end of the cable tie through the grommet.

A cable tie is rigid enough to push while still being a bit flexible. And unlike a metal coat hanger, it won't cause a spark (or worse) if it accidently comes in contact with a hot wire.
