Hey all those who may have some experience here.
I've racked my brain about this, and typically have no issues figuring stuff like this out, but I have to admit, that I'm a bit lost.

I recently picked up a Germes Labs camera control module, as well as a Rigd Ultraswing with the camera relocation kit. And in the process decided to grab a Natika camera to mount up front in the truck.

I'd see this being pretty simple if just adding the rear relocation cam, or just adding the front cam, but now I'm confused with both, and wanting to retain function of the OEM camera for the few times when the UltraSwing isn't mounted.

The Germes module has 2 camera inputs, and 2 power outputs. One power designated for 12v, the other for 6v.

I know the Natika for the front is 12v, and I'm 99% sure that the camera on the UltraSwing is also 12v.

From my understanding, the RFCC would typically retain the OEM rear camera on it's original circuit (aside from it being passed through the module), and when someone adds the front system, they'd use the 12v circuit from the RFCC. Then cycle between front and rear cameras.

I believe when folks are using the Rigd kit along with whatever type of camera control module, they're using what would essentially be the "front" camera circuit on the control module, and then being able to cycle between the OEM rear cam, and the new relocated rear cam.

Wanting to have all 3, would I use the same 12v out circuit from the module, and just have both cameras powered/triggered from there? Or would that present an issue with the module knowing which to display since they're both receiving power?

I hope I'm articulating this question correctly. Thanks in advance.

Could you add the plug to each of the rear cameras that you'd switch between the two when you install or remove the Rigd? I'd out this under the bed for ease of install so you don't have to route another cable through the cab grommet.

I used this connector when I installed a tailgate lock actuator so if I ever removed the tailgate it'd be a simple unplug. Hopkins 47965 2-Pole Flat Extension https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002Q80RW?_encoding=UTF8
Haven't had any problems for 3 years with it under the truck.

The camera on the ultraswing has the typical tiny round 4-pin connector that I can use as a disconnect when I take it off. I looked at the oem connector to see if I could make a plug to swap around sort of like what you're referring to, but haven't had the time to look at the wiring diagram to see which wires are power/ground and which ones are signal. Or determined where I can snag a connector/pigtail to use.

I didn't think about how many wires it'd need. A flat 4 pin trailer plug would work then. Keep us updated, I've been looking at a swingout for my rig and will likely do the same to switch between both rear cameras and already have a front.

The other problem with doing this, is that I'm fairly confident that Toyota oem back up cameras are 6v. So I don't think you can actually "swap" between the cameras. The normal rig'd relocation kit uses a T-harness behind the radio and pulls 12v from there and uses it for their included camera. They have a newer kit now that includes a 6v camera and an oem connector but it's pricey. https://www.rigdsupply.com/products/tailgate-camera-relocation-kit-tacoma-tundra

Ah thanks! Useful pinouts for that connector.

Interesting, post #22 says/shows that they tried hooking the natika straight to the factory harness (which is 6v) and it worked. I'm going to have to test this. If that's the case, I do have an additional 6v output from the RFCC. The natika sheet specifies 12v, but a lot of DC items like that can operate within a broad range. Hopefully this works. Thanks again for the reference.

I can double verify that the factory harness works too. I made a 2nd camera harness with a Natika camera and that 4 pin plug that I'm going to use on my high clearance rear with tire carrier. Works like plug and play.

Would you be able to confirm if that was the 10942 connector/pigtail?

You folks were spot on, and the Natika cameras operate just fine on the 6v output from the rfcc. Except, it seems like I can't have a camera hooked up to the "rear" input on the rfcc at the same time as the oem camera. When I do, I get a mixed screen of both camera images.

Unless I'm missing something here, it looks like the rfcc will only allow me to operate 2 cameras, including the oem if it's hooked up. And I'll need to go the swappable harness route for the rear.

Any success? I’m thinking of adding a front camera, but would be cool if I could add an additional camera on my trailer. Since with the oem camera I just stare at my trailer hitch. Haha

You could add a harness to the rear bumper camera connector that would reach the rear of towed trailer.. Typically the Taco comes with a connector cover for when you require to remove the tailgate. You'd just disconnect the harness to the tailgate and cover the connector (tailgate side) and connect the added harness when you hitch the trailer.

So make like a pigtail on the tailgate harness? Then when tow plug it in? Would I need to unplug the connection to the main tailgate camera?
