Just spit-balling, but what might the easiest way to get a locking rear diff into my 2017 SR5? Would a simple axel swap be possible? What are the electronic aspects of doing that? Would it require more?

you could take it to a shop and have them install a locker from arb.

or if i was to do it, i would find the whole rear diff out of a trd off road and swap it in. should be a direct bolt on, as long as you have the same ratio.

as far as the electronics for the rear diff, im sure its very simple.

Install an aftermarket locker in your diff.

    Everything is possible.

Pretty simple to apply the electrical power needed to lock the 3rd gen diff. It's been discussed in many threads and implemented by a few people.
