Just picked up a factory E locker for my TRD sport, trying to figure out the electrical diagram and pin outs. Does anyone know who builds them for Toyota? I called Eaton this morning and it is not theirs. Toyota tech says he does not have a wiring diagram for it.

    Good luck.
Starting from scratch... may be easier to wire direct with switch and relay.

I have a latching relay and resistor for my TRDOR ready to go... but havent had time to mess with it yet. Mine obviously came with elocker but i want full manual control over it... and Toyota doesnt make the job/hack easy at all.

I have been looking through that but I think I am going to wire the locker outside of the ECU loop. It shouldn't effect the TRAC system as it limits wheel slip. I also want to be able to have the rear locked for high speed stuff in the desert.

Yikes... the stock E-locker uses pulse width modulation and not simply +12V on and off. Yes, have a look through the thread posted above.

I hear you. It is just that it looks like there is some logic integrated with the signaling. Something more complex inside the locker than than power on and power off?

Yeah, I think a cheap andrino board can handle the pulse width modulation but I need a pin out of the locker writing.

I don't want to add a compressor ect and think the electric one poses a cool challenge.

As noted @BigWhiteTRD has taken the deep dives in the 4wd electrical bits. I'd reach out to him.

Otherwise, I saw a lot of electrical info in the 3rd Gen service manual that is floating around this forum some where.

I’ve been thinking about doing this. Where did you find your axle? I know that Chilcat designs makes a manual conversion kit, but looks kind of pricey.

I disagree about the compressor issue, but I admire your attitude. Good luck man. Keep us updated as you work through this.

Well that is pretty friggin' sweet. Just looking though, they don't mention the 3rd Gen or the 8.75in diff?

Those guys need to come up with a cable operated T case mod! :D

Basically all the Toyota data that you need, is in that thread that @tonered linked above. You might have to dig, and ignore a bunch that doesnt apply to you, but it is there. I know others ( @Calmlikeabomb ) is investigating this too.

In general, I think this is PROBABLY all you need to do to safely do it. Note, the factory installation uses two pwm duty cycles for locked vs unlocked, but you probably dont need to. It's on the bench, so I would start playing with it (I am much more conservative damaging original factory installed stuff)

I would run it with the 1.5 ohm resistor on the bench locked and unlocked.. check for any undesirable heating, etc. Note, you are talking 4+ amps here, so you may need use a relay rather than a switch (have not drawn that yet). And added flyback diode (poorly)

At layover enroute to Peru, so... you get what you get.

Probably need to move that flyback diode below that resistor.. maybe?
