The 2021 is the old truck. You probably mean the 2022. I’m not sure why the thread title is “2021”.

Yes, my comment is referring to the old 4.0L that the 3.5L replaced. Your comment was "The specs I mentioned are from the 3.8L V6, not the 4 cylinder." My quotes had nothing to do with a 4 cylinder engine.

I thought this video sums it up pretty well. David from Automotive Press is an engineer and a Toyota guy by heart.

Even more empty space between the front grille and radiator support compared to 3rd gen Taco:

LOL! Thanks! Slightly less annoying…dunno, rather read reviews than listen to someone run their mouth. Probably because I am around people all day at work yakking and carrying on. About the only ones I can tolerate are Clarkson, Hammond and May.

Anyways, the Nissan is a sharp looking truck, drove beside one for a bit yesterday on the way home. I considered one, but they weren’t in yet when I bought my new Tacoma. Actually think they look a little better than the Taco…but looks aren’t everything.

Not bad, though DCLBs are a little doofy looking no matter the manufacture. Needs at least a leveling kit and ditch those nerf bars.

Prefer extra cabs over those, or as Nissan calls it, King Cab. The front end is much better than the Tacomas, still can’t come to terms with the Toyota even though I own one. Every time I go to drive it, think how stupid looking the front end is. In a perfect World I would have a 70 series Ute, but oh well…at the end of the day it doesn’t matter.

My Tacoma front end didn't bother me after I change out the grill. Before the change it had a face only a mother could love. I would still have it if it wasn't for the 3.5l engine.

I can’t stand the Pro grill, everyone and their brother seems to swap it in, though it doesn’t matter what grill is in it…they all look doofy. Don’t mind the 3.5…owned Toyotas for 30 years now, most powerful and fastest one yet. All and all looks don’t matter, just need a reliable plunk around truck that can haul the dirt bike and camp out of. Liked the looks of the Ranger better, and it will tow better, but didn’t want a turbo, and from past bad experiences with our Ford fleet work trucks, can’t bring myself to spend my money on one.

Best looking Toyota truck was the late 70s early 80s, would be nice if they did a retro version like what Ford did with the Bronco, but Toyota doesn’t do retro very well if the FJ Cruiser was an inkling of that. Man that thing was painful to look at.

Toyota seems to misinterpret what retro is. Make the truck look like what they use to build. Not a new-age retro interpretation. Trucks don't need nineteen and a half different body lines down the side to look good.

Retro isn’t in their philosophy, why they are horrible at it. Why one of the slogans is “Moving Forward”.

    Scroll to “Mission”

    “We look forward, not backward”

Best not get me started on the new Tundra, holy fuuuuuck…. LOL!
