Are the better than my old TC’s, yes/no. They are fairly beefy for $280 and the ball joint is greasable. Time will tell, these pictures are fairly old. If you’re not going to go out looking to break them and you’re into light wheeling. They’ll probably suit anyone in that category just fine. They might even live through a decent beating, but I’m not trying to purposely go out of my way to break them. I will however put them through a-lot of abuse from the dunes, mud, trails, to bump goat trail fire roads.

Nice! Thanks for a honest opinion. These look really good. I’ll probably end up buying a set along with the Vertex series coil overs.

Man I’m torn between these and JBA UCAs right now. I personally love the red JBA but the price on these are hard to pass up if they’re lasting for people

Do you happen to remember what your alignment numbers were/are before and after the RC control arms?

Interested in the longevity of these and the vertex suspension. Seen a couple guys on TW have put vertex on.

Interested about this as well. I emailed RC asking what the caster compensation was on these but never heard back.

I contacted them as well and was told they will only work for 3.5” lift and will not work with my 2.0” lift. That worried me that they might add too much caster but I went ahead and purchased them, and upgraded my spacer to 1.5” to give me 3” up front. I plan to upgrade my suspension in the spring but figured this was the best route for now to get me going in the right direction. Since I don’t know what my starting alignment numbers were because installing the arms at the previous alignment settings totally screws the alignment up (until it gets realigned). But I’m super pleased with the after numbers. 3 caster, 0 camber and 0 toe. According to the cams I still have a fair amount of camber adjustment left if I wanted to dial in more caster. But it’s driving well where it’s it. I have a bmc and flattened pinch weld, 1.5” wheel spacers on factory rims 285/75/16’s with no rubbing at full turn @ full stuff. So there’s room for more caster if I decide to add it. I’m super happy with the a arms. They obviously add a fair amount of caster. Compared to the factory a arms, there’s no comparison, Much beefier. I should mention I also added the adapters to relocate the swaybar because at full droop it hit the springs. Had the adapters left over from my gen 2 that I never used.
    Anyhow, Hope this helps.

I just ordered a set. They are very responsive to texts. Sounds like aftermarket ball joints are not compatible, but you can get them directly from RC in case of failure.

Did you ask about the ball joint to see what the aftermarket replacement P/N is? I'm curious if the 3/4 ton ones I posted about are accurate.

RC states that it is proprietary. Can't give you a straight answer, unfortunately. I will say that you need to make sure you are able to adjust your Lower Control arms before installing these. If you can't (typical LCA seizure issues), I highly suggest ordering LCA as well.

Damn! I really doubt that it is proprietary, why would the go through the trouble of making their own ball joint instead of using one that is commonly available?? I know none of us have that answer, it's just me thinking out loud. I know some of their other UCA's for other trucks use 3/4 ton GM ball joints which is why I kind of assumed they did as well. Luckily I removed my LCA adjusters a while back when I installed the 6112's, so I should be good there. But it is a good note for others that read this thread.

Yea, I'm hoping that they aren't, but like I said-- can't really give a straight answer until it goes out.

Recieved mine today and I am happy with the price I paid. They appear and feel like good quality. Have to get them installed once I complete my setup.

I actually thought about something similar when I end up getting these. I personally don't want to rep the brand because of the history with them (though it seems they are turning a new leaf) so I though about shaving the branding and simply giving them a light sanded finish to give a brushed look, possibly clear coated for added protection. Polished would be cool, but damn that't time consuming and a pain to keep up if they aren't protected!

I bought the Rc 3.5" lift with rear lift springs and V2 shock upgrade for rear. Kit came with the new uca's. I installed new fuel vector wheels 17x9 with -12 offset on 285/70/17 Toyo open country at3. Slight rubbing on the mud flap in Reverse on flat ground. I developed the needle bearing vibration immediately after install but driveability and handling feel great. Much better than stock in my opinion.
