Please report back once you get it. I'm genuinely curious how it compares to the Exped since that's the only other mattress I hear being recommended.

By the way, not knocking the Dynamat. I used it on the metal panels that house drivers and on my sub enclosure for damping. But it's just that... damping. Thinsulate absorbs sound waves. Last tip: the black matting is made for adhesive to stick to surfaces. However, in some spots I would occasionally see, like inside the jack compartment, I sprayed adhesive on the white insulation so that the black, more durable matting was facing up.

Roger, understand…I have nothing against those products myself, would just rather go for an easier install; also think the 3M product my better meet my needs. Another also recommended a spray on product by Lizard skin, but after reading the specs on the Thinsulate I think it may be just the ticket.

    Shore Power

Marinco 30A 120V AC receptacle, stainless steel with weather-tight seal. Marinco pigtail adapter with threaded positive-locking weather-sealed connection and LED status. It won't come loose (the only flames I want to see in the camper are from the fireplace). This allows me to plug the truck into 120V AC power and is connected to the Renogy inverter / charger so it will automatically charge the starting and auxiliary battery, and allow any loads to be run in the truck and camper without using up the battery reserve.

Simple question from someone who doesn't know how to calculate electrical need.

Is a 1500Wh battery overkill for a 55qt fridge, maxair fan, and misc electronic charging? Is 1000Wh more reasonable? Will start trips fully charged, and will have a 170w Merlin panel for input.

Essentially have the Goalzero 1500x and plan on using it, but only got it because I had a good deal and the 1000x didnt exist at that time.

Its overkill but depends on run time of your fan/misc electronic charging and then the efficiency of the fridge and whether or not your in cold/hot climates.

Spec says 10.8V @ 140AH. The goal zero says 44 hour run time for average 35W/h for a fridge.

Makes sense. I'm prob charge a couple phones and occasionally laptop and camera. I guess more is always better. I could save money and get the 1000x but its not a tremendous weight or space savings.
Climate in Utah is hottttt sadly

It pry better to have the 1500x since your in a hot climate as the fridge might cycle a lot more. I have a 100A lithium battery and only power a 37qt fridge and diesel heater at night with DC-DC charging. Its worked great for me but I am in the PNW and it doesn't get too hot.

I've seen a little talk on this thread about camp tables and mounting them under the cabover. I requested L track under my cabover for this reason. Has anybody done it? Would love to see photos and maybe recommendations one what tables work best. I've got a 3rd gen tacoma so there's a decent bit of space to utilize there.

Update on the Hest… first impressions.

They ship it rolled longways and vacuumed into a very tight plastic wrap to utilize a smaller box. They put some effort into logistics on saving space in shipment and inventory storage.

I removed the Exped and put the Hest up top and pushed it forward and laid down for a minute.

Seems like it will work out just fine as long as the foam doesn’t get hard in cold. It was off gassing, so I removed it and it’s sitting in the basement airing out. Once that’s done, I’ll put it back in the drifter with no sheets and go out on a cold morning to see how hard the foam is then.

Easiest way to do it is probably the Front Runner system. They have a couple tables and brackets designed for this, not sure how they all differ...

    https://www.frontrunneroutfitters.c...Vk4IIeTLNgCjT5SdlbOaZ3T5QVxxfYrxoCD0kQAvD_BwE

I'm sure you could also DIY something similar for any table that's thin enough.

Thanks for re-sharing this info. It's helpful, however I don't know if I could bring myself to spend $500 plus on a table. Anybody utilize any cheaper options/diy mounts?

    No mounting needed...
No, it's not as quick as just unfolding legs from a static tabletop, but it's not a pain, either.
I'm happy with mine and it's very sturdy for a camp table.

For a totally different approach, I built a slide out platform with hidden legs that we use as a table at camp. It doesn't take up much extra space and adds some additional functionality. Cost way less than $500. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ildout-and-mods.540940/page-228#post-24557158

    Just the basics
Once I went with one of these lifetime tables I never looked back at the "camping" style tables. Only issue would be if you couldn't pack the table due to size. They have a few different styles. I have two, one folding, and another non-folding as pictured, which I use the most. I've not seen the type in the photo available lately but the way the locks for the legs works is great for one person, quick setup and breakdown.

How has this shower system been working so far?
Any improvements that you would recommend?
