Want to add charding usb port and looking for a clean install. Thinking to add a fuse to the back and use it for the charger.

you have to be careful removing the Cig. lighter . Then it needs a little bit bigger hole than the original--like half a mil.
and the wiring its easy -just 2 wires

Can you do split screen on this unit ? For exmple, have Spotify (or just radio) on one half and google maps up on the other side ? Not necessarily connected to AA or Carplay, just having those apps open

About to pull the trigger on this head unit, just wondering if anyone can give advice on the best place to buy. Will the Amazon package come with everything needed such as the harness and adapters ? And on the Joying website, they have a bunch of options you can add like OBD2, DVR, TPMS, and AHD reverse camera. No idea which ones are actually needed. Can anyone shine some light on this?

I bought mine on eBay and it included everything needed to install and have steering wheel controls work. They key is to confirm which stereo you currently have to make sure they send you the right one. If you have a TRD with 7” screen the “normal” unit will work

I bought directly from Joying and received in 5 days (west coast).
You need this harness to get your rear camera and steering wheel working:
Joying Toyota Special Harness with Can-bus Decoder
    SKU: TU-Can.

If you want your Oem USB port working get this adapter
    Brand: PAC
PAC USB-TY1 Toyota/Lexus OEM USB Port Retention Cable

To hook up OEM GPS antenna and Sat radio (does not come with the unit), get this iDatalink acc-sat-to2 and SMA Male to SMB Male adapters.

Is this the SMA Male to SMB Male adapter needed to use OEM satellite?

If you buy that Maestro iDatalink adapter set.

You can shop for other adapters or use supplied antenna. I had a hard time to locate adapters that fit.

Got this head unit installed, really liking it so far and a huge step up from the old entune. Luckily haven't run into too many bugs. Just a few questions to throw out there. I used the original brackets to mount it, and its good enough, but just wondering if anyone used the scosche dash kit, and if that made it solid and fit perfectly. Also, I have verizon for phone plan, but I hear that won't fly with this.(for cell data on head unit) Has anyone had luck with T-mobile or google fi? If so, is it difficult or expensive to get a data plan for that ?
