    Not at all.

You've got a lot of catching up to do since your 1995 purchase. The world has moved on.

Not always moved in a good way, but certainly moved.

No, no. Flashing an ECU is common practice to get more performance from an engine.
Back in the old days, you would swap EPROM chips. Now you plug the ECU into a computer and upload software onto it.
There are threads all over these forums about it. There are several tuners who post here. One or two seem to hold
the highest amount of market share. There are products that plug into the accelerator pedal harness as well.
All kinds of stuff to add performance to the engine and/or transmission. At this point, I feel none are necessary for my truck.

I read several posts that swear trans shifting issues are caused by low fluid from the factory.
I asked the dealer to verify the trans fluid level was correct as part of the pre delivery inspection.

Thanks. Now that I'm eagerly awaiting mine, I'm reading so much stuff here that some is falling back out. I did read about aftermarket tunes, and pedal stuff, but I thought I read one post where someone had their tranny software updated at the dealer, Maybe not. I would think that straight from the factory, I'd have the latest of these things anyway.

The trucks are absolutely fine Stock.

Most of the issues arise because of aftermarket modifications, especially larger tires. If you go big you need the proper gearing to handle the increase in tire size. All vehicles are designed to be dependable Stock. Modified vehicles can be dependable just has to be done right.

Originally had a 2017 2.7 5 speed that I loved, but the pedal lag was horrible in a stick. Test drove a 2019 trd OR before I got my 2022 OR. There's definitely a difference in shifting and throttle response, in favor of my 2022. Accelerates and shifts much smoother

Well, as it turns out the options I wanted / ordered in early Aug. Are not being shipped to So Cal.
White, Access cab, V6, SR5. For some unknown reason. Used to be a common option. Guess it's not anymore.
A dealer found 2 on the east coast. But none slated for my area. This month or next.
So, I might have to go with the Sport package. But have no interest in the tech. package. The ones in my area all seem to come with.
Or just wait till things calm down.
An SR would be fine. Just thought it would be tougher to find over an SR5, equipped
with my prefered options. White, V6, Access cab, SX Package.

Isn't the SX package only available to SE Toyota dealers? I thought I had heard that they have an exclusive on that trim package.
