Okay, so I just installed a new suspension last weekend.

SPC UCAs, Bilstein 6112s (gen 2 4th clip), 5160s, and an Icon AAL. I did the ECSG bushing a couple weeks ago.

It’s all aligned and dialed in now. However, I’m not happy with the rear lift. The rear is a little too low. I’m looking for an additional 1” or so to level it out.

I did not install the overload spring per Icon’s instructions.

It seems these are my options:
Add a block (I want to avoid this)

Add the overload (seems similar to the block suggestion and after speaking with icon will actually increase stress on the leafs).

Buy a whole new leaf pack.
Looks like the best options are deaver, all pro, Dakar OME, and ICON rxt.

I have no load in the bed. Mainly use the truck around town, but take it camping, on trails, and in the snow.

I definitely don’t need something high end, but I also don’t want crap that’s going to be a waste of money.

Have I covered everything? Is there something I’m missing? Would a block be an acceptable solution or is that just a bad idea? Are the OME and All Pro options solid?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regardless of the height, how does the rear ride as AAL tend to make it pretty rigid. I ordered a new pack from Alcan recently and they make it to order for your specs. I hated the AAL, plus my stock pack is flattening out and I only put the AAL on about 7k miles ago. It’s an option to the others you’re exploring and the feedback I’ve read has all been solid and Lex over there was pretty helpful and friendly.

You could lower the front a click.

Honestly, I have not noticed a difference in ride from stock. Now, I haven’t really gone the distance with them by any means because I’ve only had them on since Sunday. I’ll be paying attention now.

I just searched Alcans. The results for a leaf pack came back a little pricey- like in the Deaver-ish range. I could definitely afford them and the deavers, but I don’t know if I need something that high-end for my application. Do they do custom AALs as well? Might be more cost effective than a whole leaf pack.

Yeah, definitely an option! I considered it, but the more I think about it I’d rather go higher than lower

Consider you're not increasing ground clearance. You might improve approach/departure angles, but that's about it.

True. At this point it’s about aesthetics. The extra ground clearance will come with my next move when I do the CMC and slap some 295s/33s on there

I’d do a whole new leaf pack. I’m not sure how good the stock ones are but mine rides a little stiff in the rear. Same truck. By the way, what size tires are those?

I think that’s probably going to be what I do.

I’m looking at the OME and All Pros. Seem to be a solid middle of the road option. Been reading through posts trying to gather info.

These tires are 265/70/17s. Wrangler Duratracs. Gonna step it up to the 295/70s next.

Do you have the ICON AAL 1.5” expansion pack? If maybe just try putting the overload in. I’ve read that people thought it rode even better than stock. My gf had that setup and it rode great.

Yeah, that’s the one I have.

I spoke to Icon today and they advised against it. Said it would be better for the springs if I just did a block. They said that the overload actually adds stress to the springs, lowering their longevity. I’d rather just pull the leafs off and sell them. But I’ve also read the same type of posts. Im just a little weary after speaking to a representative from the company that advised against it.

Ohh I see, the ICON replaces the stock overload. I thought you mean you took a leaf out of the the icon set.

With a leer 180 and probably 100-200lbs in addition to that, I put the firestone 2407 Ride-Rites on mine about 3.5 years ago for a little over $300 I think, and have been pretty happy with them. It can change the rear height be a couple inches as needed depending on the pressure. We also use it to level the truck side to side when sleeping in the back. At some point i'm probably going to switch the lower mount of the airbag to a daystar cradle to give some droop back. I watched some wheeling videos from Colorado this summer and i'm definitely missing some traction going through rocks not having the rear tires droop back down.

Forgot to mention that I also have the 6112's @#4 and the 5160's on now, it all seems to work well together on 33's.

    Here you go:

    Before and after.

Stage one. Just put them in this afternoon, so they’ll probably settle some. Also put in wheeler’s front and rear bump stops.
