Thinking about installing a rotopax in my bed on the MOLLE panels and just leaving it there. Anyone else do this? I have a cover so I'm not worried about it being stolen.

Empty or full? Empty, they weigh very little, so I have no concern. Full, they're quite a bit heavier and will stress the mounting points, over time. It depends how and where you mount them.

I'd use the locking mount, covered or not.

Yep, plenty have done it if that's the question you're really asking. Is it worth it? My opinion is no, but if you want to, we support ya and glad to help!
