Looking to upgrade my battery to an AGM wondering if anyone has any experience with odyssey batteries and if they make a group 27. I have also looked into the northstar group 27f battery but they are hard to find.

I like the x2 power 27f battery. It’s a rebranded northstar that is rated for more cca. Batteries plus bulbs sells them.

So looking into the X2 which definitely shows more CCA which to me is a plus. I work on boats and with that being said cca is a big deal in the boat world especially during the winter time and having all of the electronics along with them constantly using as much power back and forth. What have you heard about odyssey batteries anything good? Do they make a battery in a 27f battery that will fit in the 2nd gen battery tray without having to upgrade the whole try by chance.

    I’m sure they make a 27f. I have the x2 and couldn’t be happier.

They're all pretty similar to be honest. EnerSys owns both Odyssey and Northstar. That said I still prefer Odyssey batteries.

Just keep in mind that the more power they fit into a container, the thinner the separators between the plates, the more prone to internal shorts the battery will be.
