Lotus Evora Uses Toyota Motors

According to Car and Driver, each Evora GT gets a mid-mounted, supercharged 3.5-liter V6 engine from Camry that yields 416 horsepower. It can get up to 332 lb-ft of torque with the six-speed automatic transmission.

With a manual transmission, you get a limited-slip differential that helps traction. Power gets routed to the rear wheels. They describe the Toyota-sourced V6 as smooth and “torquey” with an empowering howl from the supercharger once it hits 4500 rpm.

Pretty awesome cars, and what a nice feeling knowing its a Toyota powertrain, probably will eventually see some with 300k miles and still going strong

True! The Elise used (maybe still uses) an MR2 motor.

 

Local dealer has an MR2 inside! I asked if I could use it as a loaner, they ignored me... rude...

Not sure. I go in on the 25th and if they still have it I'll check it out. I was there when they sold a '97 supra though! I almost bought a '94 Supra when I lived in Germany... it was an automatic, left side drive. Backed out at the last minute. Bought a POS renault and went clubbin lol.

Was just funny seeing that Supra up here in Montana. There is like 3 months you are going to be able to drive it, lol.
