I'm looking at getting some Method 701s 17x8.5 +0 offset and putting some K02s 265/65/17 on them.

I suck at this whole offset thing so I'm wondering if someone could help me out.

With my current stock TRD OR suspension/lift, would I run into any rubbing or anything? Will there be any poke?

I am running those, but I have a 2" lift, so I can't confirm they fit stock. I bet they do, though.

Not much poke - they are pretty much flush.

Shouldn't have to worry unless you go up to 285's. I started rubbing my upper control arms then. So I changed to -12 offset. All clear then.

Most upsize to 265/70/17. Look into that before you hit the purchase button.

What if I grabbed the 701s in 17x9 -12 offset and ran the same k02s? Any rubbing?

I'm trying to upgrade my wheels, want to stick with 16 or 17 inches, but have the option to go bigger on the tire when I get there and then address rubbing with those bigger tires. I'm not going to play around with the lift/suspension just yet as I'm still trying to see how much weight I'm going to be running with. The previous input I had led me to the thought process of maybe another inch over this stock TRD OR.

I want a solid, aggressive look, without going crazy on the lift (it will be used for long distance adventures so I'm trying to factor in weight, mpg, etc).

I'm wondering what the advantages/disadvantages are for 8.5 vs 9 now.

Did you go with the 17x8.5s with zero offset or the 17x9s with offset?

Valid point. I should have thrown that idea in here as well. Do you think there would be any issues with rubbing/etc by going to that?

advantage of going 8.5 or 9" just means its 8.5 inches wide or 9 inches wide. you need wider rims to fit bigger tires. but people run 285-70-17 on a 7" rim. so the difference between 8.5 or 9 is useless.

265-70-17 will fit on a stock height 3rd gen tacoma. try to stick to 0 to 10 offset. if you go into the negative offset, you have the chance of the tire rubbing on the plastic fender liner.

Ok... so.... I've been a bit busy with work but I thought I'd update everyone on what I went with and the end result incase they go down the same or similar path!

    I opted for some Method 701s - 17 inch x 8.5 with 0 offset. I paired them with some BFG K02s 265-70-17s.

Running this on a 100 percent completely stock 2021 TRD OR package (no upgrades to the lift/suspension/etc) I have complete clearance and zero rubbing issues running this set up. A full-sized spare wheel/tire fits completely fine under the truck bed.

Thank you ALL for your help!

I ran a similar setup on stock suspension with no rubbing issues
