I’m a huge fan of VinWiki, and the stories of the imported UTE are great. The few SSs I see around here are wasted on their owners.

    Do this one proud, sir.

Haha! Not sure. This car is a fantastic almost luxurious daily. Everything is tight, it handles great, it sounds great without being obnoxious. I love it exactly the way it is!

Ok. I have purchased the successor to the Daddywagon. But let's stay focused! Mustang dash, console, fuel tank and 6 speed T56 are next! Oops! I just bought an axle back exhaust for the SS! Darn-it!

This quote is from the first page of this thread, before the Chevy SS hit the Chevy showroom floors! Haha!

My brother traded the gt350 for a C7 Z06 and I bought a 2017 Chevy SS. We've always been Mustang fans but we are car guys also and the Chevys we bought are awesome. I really wanted a new Mach 1 with the handling package but the mark ups were too much for me.

Alright. Back window hinges are kaput. The hinges are unobtainium. Years ago I asked my son to find window hinges for the Daddywagon and he came up with Jeep Wrangler hinges. Well, I am gonna try and make it work! He was 11 when I asked him to find them!!

I ordered a Stifflers crossmember to install the T56 transmission and 1"coil spacers to replace the 1/2" spacers that I originally installed. The rear of the car is low and even with the front but going over some undulations on the highway causes the left rear tire to contact the inner wheel well. Even if I end up with a little rake I think it will improve the driving experience! My worry with the T56 is the driveshaft! I bought the trans with a compatible driveshaft for a mustang. It might be too short for The Daddywagon.

I installed the spacers. The desired effect was achieved. I don't think it's gonna settle much more.

It ain't pretty and I butchered drilling the holes but it'll do until I can find actual replacement hinges. I'm not gonna open that window... ever! I will paint the bolts black so they don't stand out so much.

After driving the Chevy SS the past couple of months I am aware that a hydraulic clutch is super easy to step on and the 6 speed manual transmission is buttery smooth to shift. So I decided to buy some clutch parts to improve the feel at the pedal of the Daddywagon.

All of the parts are supposedly Ford Performance Parts. Since I purchased these parts I've decided to install the T56 and see what I have. In the interim the Daddywagon was well received at the local Cars and Caffeine.

The parts shown are clutch quadrant, clutch fork, non-adjustable clutch cable, and firewall clutch cable adjuster. This weekend hopefully. I'm going 6 speed!

T56 swap is in progress. Since I was doing clutch cable work I started on the dash and console. The driveshaft that was too long is now way too long for the T56. I found a driveshaft on marketplace that might work... fingers crossed.

I haven't given up on The Daddywagon. As usual I am working on it whenever I can find the time. I am trying to convert to Mustang dash and console and the wiring that the swap entails. It's a daunting task. Time and money.

I know... I know. Life. Wrenching vacation is planned for this summer. I need to burn some vacation time anyway. Soon.
