They don’t make the leer 122 for the Tacoma. I tried. Went with the 180 fully loaded. I liked its functions . Quality could have been better

For the first couple years they did not offer the 122 on the 3rd gen but I have confirmed it is now available. I just can't find anyone with one.

Glad to hear! I got mine this past March and it wasn’t an option.

Is it just me, or did they change the style/shape of the 122 for the 3rd gens?

Leer 122 wasn't avail for shortbed initially so went with leer 180cc, Besides it has a flatter top so if you wanted to carry or mount items up top it would be much easier. I made that mistake with my previous truck and the slanted truck capmountain tacomas.jpg

Love your build, billybrown66! I'm pretty much looking for the same set up - have you liked the 122 so far? How do you feel about the AC/LB combo? What's your lift set up?

I just got my leer 122 and wanted to post because there aren't too many pictures of them on third generation Tacomas.

Bau Town, I'm so jealous! Currently shopping for these and they are hard to find, or take at least 5-7 weeks to deliver.

Many Leer dealers are telling me the 122 (tallest) is not available for my 09 double cab Long Bed. Is yours the short bed? Anybody else can confirm whether I just need to keep searching?

And is craiglist the best place to find used? I saw a post recommending the auto dump but that is difficult to shop as well.

I plan to build a bed platform pretty tall, so the platform top is basically flush with the top of the gate to maximize storage. I've done it before and it was great but the army crawl in/out does get old.

    Thanks American Safari,

Unfortunately mine took 3 months and they still didn't get it right (I need to send it back to get carpet installed which they say will take 3 weeks). I'm not sure about the 2009 leer 122 availability, sorry. Mine is a long bed. I ended up paying a lot for mine $3k brand new but also got most of the options.

I hope you find what you're looking for! I'm sure they're out there. I saw a leer 180 after they already made mine for around $2k which I probably would've bought if I hadn't already paid the deposit for the 122.

Does anyone know if the 122 comes with the option of having (short) windoor sliders and bay windows?

After talking to a couple dealers, it looks like this isn't an option. Either windoors or sliders if you want bay windows too. Thinking I'll go with the long windoor-sliders for convenience, although I prefer the look of the bay windows.

Bau Town, How are you liking this Leer 122? I am seriously thinking of getting one when my 22 4DLB arrives.
    How is the fit? quality?
Do you have suggestions on windows? Do you like your sliding windoors? Are the worth the extra $?

New Leer 122, BedRug, and a bed platform built with aluminum and slats on my 22 access cab 4x4, 6' bed. I'm 5'6" and have maybe 6" upright head clearance sitting on the bed. Build quality and finish is great. Highly recommended.

There has been zero effect on mpg.

Awesome Tacoma Willow! I am sold on the 122. Your pics are great. Top looks good. Its not as sleek as the 180, but I want the headroom.
I think I'm going to go with the windoors, not sure it is worth the expense. However, the bay window setup that you have looks better.
