How you liking the tires? It's one of the few 35"s that measures >34.5"

    @R4D4G4ST -
    Are these new?
    TP00251700
    P285/70R17
117T vs 112T on the oem size we are runnin.
43lbs vs 38lbs on the oem.
(Note: 265/70/17 in SL is also avail it looks like with a 116T XL rating.)
my question - as I’m not a tire guy - P vs just SL?
(Edit: good to hear snow performance is solid)
(Edit2: why can’t they offer 285/75/16 at the same weight )

I'm really considering making these my new fleet tire. Problem is finding a company that will do bulk sales of any Maxxis tire.

@Inmypassatlife - those would certainly look sick on a lunar rock. I’m sure the performance is in line with OEM size with the added benefit of 33” and wider.
I’m just looking to see if anyone had done anything extensive with P rated ones on the Tacoma - hence my question regarding newness. I’d really prefer (I think?) to keep the 16” wheels to go to 33” at some point but definitely really enjoying these maxxis. :frusty:

Anyone running the 295/70r17 size? if so does anyone have the mounted measurements? do they come out to 33.5 inches. Looking to put this size on my 97 taco.

Anyone running the E rated? Would love reviews. I’m still trying to decide between E and SL. I’ll have a Retrax, bed rack, roof top tent, sliders. Also will be towing a boat occasionally. I’m in Texas and our off-roading is Rocky. I just think the SL may not be enough.

Just mounted up a set of 285/75/R16’s. We’ll see how they perform, but I’m very happy with the looks.

So far I like them a lot. Coming from stock tires, there’s definitely more road noise, but it’s not bad considering how aggressive these look. Had some snow, ice, and rain recently and they performed great. I had to do a little trimming to fit these with a 2” lift, they’re closer to a true 33” diameter than most other tires this size. You definitely feel the extra weight and stiffness, but those are trade offs I’m happy to live with. I would buy them again for sure.

Looks great! Coming from an admitted subie fanboy though.

I think the loud/quiet tire trait for any tire is subjective. The type of tires are being replaced and the vehicle of use come into play. I personally think the Maxxis are quiet, but I’m accustomed to AT tires road noise on my taco.

When I hop in my wife’s Crosstrek I feel like it rides like a Cadillac and has great road noise canceling insulation. The reality is that neither of those impressions are true…

    265/70/17 next to 35x11.5

Almost fit straight away. I used the grinder to get rid of the cab mount overlap and got 90% to full lock. It needs CMC I know, but this size works well. My alignment is at 4.3’ already. Also realized after pulling wheels off they were set at 32 psi from tire shop.

(String was for hold back fender liner while beating pinch weld outward).

1st: compared to the Duracraps on my work Tahoe, the Maxxis are virtually silent. So, perspective. 2nd: that looks really good, and that's coming from someone who can't stand Subaru.
