If I didn’t know any better I’d bet the guy had sandpaper coveralls. The ass part is definitely not machined butt rather massaged.

Well, sometimes a plan works out even if you don't remember it..

Started to deal with the 12" of :censored: snow here on the hilltop and needed a shear bolt.
Seems like I had some... Actually found them right where I thought they should be.

3 hours later I was done -- up here. 6 hours later I was back home. :bananadead:

    Thank you... I think... ;)

I have found a bit of eloquence throws off company higher ups who tend to assume one is "just a dumb maintenance guy".

    ...............
To digress a bit, I feel that we as a society have lost track of the pride once found in the design and manufacture of ordinary pedestrian goods. The modern consumer wants the most for the least and they want it all right now.

Sure we all tend to wear the rose colored glasses when talking about "the good old days", but I do feel it isn't all sentiment.

For example, go find a common kitchen appliance like a blender or a toaster built up to around 1980, they are far more substantial then anything you will find today and there is a good chance they are still doing their job.

    Stepping off soapbox now :sorry:
We now return to regular programming, thank you for your indulgence.

I always found it was easier to look look directly at the boss and not look away.

They usually were so insecure they would lose their train of thought.

    It was actually quite fun.

I’m thinkin’ GE T34 toaster & if it shows up in the bottom adds, you’ll see what I mean.

Not like you could Spock out & mind meld with ‘em. That would be real painful.

I've always been curious on what kind of kick back Bob gets from all us cats' linking Amazon adds.

Not that he doesn't deserve it. This place has given me unmeasurable amount of entertainment.

    ^^^ Yes, that is fun!^^^

I learned early on that if I did things that people needed before they needed them I could just about become invisible.

I really didn't really report to anyone and if a busybody did enter my airspace they had no idea what I actually did -- so they were easy to send packing.

From what I hear, after I retired they started figuring out I took care of a lot of things...

We used to do that on junk ski`s using the Pick up 4x4 chained up as a Ski boat in those days we could go for miles in the fields crossing roads not touched yet .

It is a wonder so many lived through child hood

I hear that quite often when skilled people leave .

Now a whole bunch of stuff has not been done in some cases and places that is good for a good laugh .
