Spare tire hoist wrench

What's this part#? The closest I can find on parts.toyota.com is 09150AD020 which has a socket, not this shape. This one fits correctly into the receiver hole shaped the same way above the spare tire. Mine has a bad extra bend in it from some mishap that makes it difficult to turn without damaging the rear bumper area, and I want a replacement.

The Toyota tire tool set on parts.toyota.com might be confusing me. I know some parts are for the floor bottle jack, but nothing looks like this part.

The "pin head" tool here looks similar, but it might be the wrong size, and the comments say it doesn't fit.

Here's the receiver above the spare tire. Shot with and without a flash, each of which show different parts of it better.

 

Look for one like the pic, it's round.
Ignore the silver Gizmo, it's a key for the optional hoist lock.

 

Should be able to pick one up at a junk yard.

 

So the head of the hook will fit into the slot? Is the hook head bulged in the middle? Or is the center circle of the receiver irrelevant and it just fits into the slots outside the circle?

I see a few Dorman products that might work, one for Tacomas with a hook similar to that, but they say it's only for 2005-2019 Tacomas.

 

This hook is what fits into the tire hoist mechanism.

@JustADriver, is there no way to straighten out the 'extra bend' on your current tool (heat, hammer, etc.)?

 

I believe the difference in the newer one and the older ones is that old had little thumb screws to hold together, newer looks to be slip fit. I rigged a piece of 1 1/2 plastic pipe from bumper to the crossmember to guide the tool. saves a lot of hassles, especially in the dark.

 

You got me curious to look, so I took out the set in my 2003. Yes, the hook end has a bulge in the middle. Mine was the version with thumb screws to keep the sections together, and looks very much like the ones pictured above. It has the hook end section, one extension, the tire tool, and a handle to turn the two lowering rods.

 

Update, I bought a 2nd gen kit and it fit good. I don't see any use for the second extension but will keep it just in case.
