I prefer the Duramax but they are all good trucks.

Test drive and pick what you like. They’re all pretty darn solid. Far cry from 15 years ago when there were some pretty massive gaps. How much are you pulling?

    My personal tow rig is a 2012 6.7 F350.

    GM 3/4 ton
I towed a fishing rig 4-6 thousand miles a year for about twenty years mostly with a Ford F-150. Near the end I tried a Tacoma and a GM 3/4.
The Taco was too small and light for me, just not comfortable on long pulls.
Then I tried a GMC 3/4 and I'll never go back to a Ford.
The GM rode better, better fuel economy, and the 4x4 GM would turn circles inside the 2x4 Ford.
No truck is perfect, just wish I'd tried the GMC sooner.

Ford F-150. I towed my Lance 1475 (4000lbs) with a Taco for a year, then traded it for the Ford. I get better gas mileage, has a bigger gas tank for more range, plus it’s much more comfortable on long trips.

F150 can't towed what I planned on towing..

Will be getting a 2020 or newer f250 6.7 with a 10 speed vs the older 6 speed.

Look hard at the specs and options. I have a friend that just went through this. Ram has a certain transmission/engine combo that will pull a mountain inside out, but it was insanely difficult for him to find.

For him it was down between the Duramax and the Cummins. He wound up with a used Ram 3500 with 40k on the clock, I think he talked them down to $65k for it.

Our work trucks have all been F250s and F350s- they're solid towers but every single one has developed electrical problems after they reach 8 years of age or so. I've had one or two leave me stranded. Granted, they're work trucks which means no employee will treat them gently, but still. I love the F150, despise the F250.

Ford because the GM trucks are ugly as hell and I wouldn’t touch a dodge with someone else’s dick

Looking at a camper with roughly 7-10k lbs. I also have an 18' 2500lbs metal car trailer and when loaded, it's roughly 7-8k lbs. A few guys I know have the f250 and I like them as well but been eyeballing the new tundra as another option.

    Still thinking about it.
Ford seems to be the only real truck left that’s not a bunch of cheap compromise…Speaking of the big three anyway. I could be wrong…

Not sure about elsewhere but local and surrounding areas fire department use F250. Plus, most commercial business that do a lot of heavy towing/hualing use F250/F350.

Ford 6.7 I like the mirrors better. I'd also get the 7.3 gas motor, but I wouldn't be towing with it. The diesel would be better for towing.

The Ram diesel would probably be the better truck for towing. I like Fords more than Ram, and I think Ford has better numbers when it comes to towing.

GM, I not a fan of. No good reason, plus Ford and Ram build trucks that produce more capable numbers. Not that it matters for the 3/4 tons but GM does not offer a 4/550 or a 45/5500 chassis.

They do again as of MY2019(?). Uses a Navistar chassis and a GM cab/engine/trans. GM hooked up with Navistar after Ford and Navistar dissolved the Blue Diamond joint venture for MD trucks.
