Are you looking for firm progressiveness?
    Or controlled wheel travel smoothness?

I get what youre saying, but they all drive a lil rough. Get Deaver leafpacks. Idk choose which color you like for a shock lol. If you lift it, its not gonna be a pillow.

all depends on your budget. i had bilstein 5100, and now i have the 6112/5160 set up. i think next shock will be a fox or a king. the way they are valved, they are smoother at small bumps and fire roads, but the bilsteins are firm to give you better control on the road. and they absorb big pot holes or impacts well.

Specifically for every day on the road driving like you’re asking for:

    OEM.

    Stock.

Anything off road oriented will be worse for a daily only.

I'm in the same boat. Stock suspension, knocking on 200k miles. I'd like to refresh the front and rear. I rarely take mine offroad as I live in the city. I wouldn't mind raising it just a tad but idk honestly. Smoother ride is really what I'm looking for.

Stock O/R or the slightly bigger 4600's.

I used to like OME for on road, but lately they rust quickly, and the prices are nuts.

This. As far as I know, there is no better suspension comfort wise than stock. Possibly some KYBs or something but any aftermarket suspension that enhances it capability and performance hinders ride quality to a certain degree (some more than others.)

Find any number of people selling their Stock OEM take-off suspension for cheap. No off road oriented setup will ride “smoother” than brand new stockers.

Personally I like Bilstein just because they’re a digressively valved shock. I prefer the firmer ride of that type shock. If you want a more pillow like feeling then a progressive shock is better. Or you can get a shock thats can be tuned and make it what you want from firm to soft. Lots of choices for sure to meet any budget.

Dude has a 2021 TRD OR so I don’t think his shocks are worn out lol. He’s asking if anything aftermarket is better on road than stock. Don’t think he’ll be buying anybody else’s factor take offs.

I’m sure there’s aftermarket options that are extremely on road friendly no?

Your OE shocks were done over 100k ago. Anything you put on will be 'smoother'.

I'd put a low mile OR takeoff setup on it. Cheap (to acquire), absorbent ride.

I’m not particularly looking for “off road” oriented shocks. I just think there’s friendly aftermarket on road options out there that i am not aware of.
