I did read here that you can unplug the primary o2 sensor and reset the battery (to reset learned trims) and that'll give you a better idea of what the Map3 tune actually is like since the OEM ecu will stay in open loop. I will probably try this first tomorrow morning

I do know that there was a limitation on one guy's, from the UAE, years ago. He ended up swapping from MAF intercept to MAF delete(?). Then he was able to dial it in.

An idea and potential option.

 

Try old inj ÷ new inj = x

220 ÷ 440 = .5

So in that instance you need to pull 50% across the previous map approximately. Then dial in from there. Obviously change the values to fit your setup.

I love the anti-surge housings so much. Spoolyboi noises while barely accelerating lol.
I constantly go on and off throttle just to hear it

 

You're making me miss my turbo lol.

 

I needed anti surge when I bought this turbo. Best sound ever. I even put a larger muffler on so I can hear it better.

 

I'm sure that you get some heads turning, when your jet engine Taco rolls up.

To some of you welders out there, is there a preferred online welding supply? I bought a used Tig setup, and need to weld AL and SS, Still need to sort thru the parts that came with it, but likely need to get torch parts and filler rod. Any recommendations? If it matters, I am in the NorthEast.

I think all of us turbo guys do regardless. Turbo Tacomas are such a niche, and most car guys know Tacomas never had a turbo option- so it gathers attention.

I love when I'm next to someone (even if just driving casually on normal roads) and we get next to each other at a light- they always have a thumbs up or ask me questions lol.
Definitely gets attention, that's for sure! Especially from the Subie and Evo guys by me. They invite me to their shop meets all the time, it's pretty cool!

It is rather a warm feeling of community and respect for automotive enthusiasm, when events like that happen. I do very much enjoy that.

 

I don't drive street as much as I used to. I can't tell if it is the long travel or the turbo that gets people going. It's pretty overwhelming to soak my truck in all at once. I sure know that Karen's get pissed at me when I go to the grocery store. A lot of people think I did a diesel swap.

Good mornin gents, slowly getting the truck running well with the 550s, but im getting a couple codes. P0101 and P0138. One’s relating to the MAF sensor and the second to the secondary o2 sensor. My long term fuel trims are still a bit out of wack, so im guessing it has something to do with this. Anyone have any thoughts? I still need to work on my afr adjust table, i think thatll help with the long term trims but these are consistently on, even though the truck is running well.

 

I am betting that since you started adjusting the MAF voltages, that you popped that code, yes?
