I bought a Tune and now my grass doesn't grow in the heat of summer!!!

Seems like pretty typical 3rd gen logic.

I see you have a (Cold air intake) Id clean the mass airflow sensor and make sure nothing else wrong under the hood.
How many miles on the truck? Time for new plugs? may you have a sensor on its way out.....

Just out of curiosity, and I'm certain not going to try and change your mind, but is it because of warranty concerns?

LOL, saw the title of this thread and new the tune fans would be out in force! :)

But yeah, kind of a dick move there OP calling out the aftermarket tune with zero evidence to back it up. Codes are stored and readable even if the CEL goes out; get them read and then let us know what you find out!

Yes sir, mainly. Also I'm hesitant to let a guy I don't really know that I meet in a parking lot have at my ECU. If my ECU gets bricked I may be dealing with a guy with a business license and liability insurance, or some guy who spent $389 at vfTuner who I will never hear from again. No disrespect intended to the legitimate businesses out there, but you can never be too careful.

And that's exactly why many of us opt to spend $389 at vfTuner and handle it ourselves

LOL I'm not looking to start shit. Everyone has a different risk tolerance, mine happens to be lower than most folks on here. Plus I don't think my truck runs that bad on the stock tune. My opinion has always been I'm only right when it comes to my truck. Everyone else should to what makes them happy, doesn't matter what I or anyone else thinks.

And you did ask me why :)

ignoring all the butt hurt in this thread, I would suggest either taking it to an auto parts store like autozone or similar that can read the stored code for free and writing down the code that they pull, or go on Amazon and get a cheap Veepeak OBDII scanner for $20 and read it yourself. The Veepeak is good enough to read most trouble codes but I wouldn't use it for anything more than that. If you were looking for a recommendation for a reader that can do a lot more than the Veepeak, the OBDLINK LX is around $70 and when pared with the OBD Fusion phone app it gives you all kinds of information on the vehicle in an easy to use and parse format.

It's not that I have anything against people who keep their truck's ECU stock, it's that your opinion is wrong.

    I'M KIDDING

I'm glad you got a truck from the factory that runs well. Enjoy it! :)

This is some straight up toyota mechanic logic... Did something to truck, dont investigate current issues, blame thing without diagnosis.

See, I learned something new today. I always thought the Toyota mechanic logic was "it's normal".

Thats just if they dont have something to blame the issue on.
Here is the flow chart for toyota techs

Problem -> did the customer replace anything? -> yes -> blame thing
Problem -> did the customer replace anything? -> no -> "its normal"
Problem -> "just monitor it, and it if continues we will have someone who is not me look at it because I dont give a flying fuck about your truck problems, im just here to collect my guarantee pay"

BTW, that last thing is 100% of many techs. If they are already having a low numbers week, they will give up and just not care. If they push it off maybe it comes back next week and they will be having a better week and can make their hours.

Many techs get paid a flat rate, but if they book hours higher than the flat rate they get the book hours.
Example - tech works 40 hours, but only produces 30 hours of work, They get paid the 40 hours. But if the tech works 40 hours and produces 60 hours, they get paid for the 60 hours. Or sometimes if they are on track for a great week they will ignore the problem because they know it will screw up their hours for the week.
