I purchased a Leer 180 in early 2020 and it arrived and I also wasn't satisfided with the color match.
Leer warrantied a repaint on it after my hesitancy to accept it. The Topper dealer pulled all the windows and dropped it off at an automotive paint shop. I stopped by there and left my tailgate with them to get a paint match before repainting it. Turned out much better. Isn't the Ranch topper made by a division of Leer?

Hey guys! Looking to get rid of the softopper and go with a mid-rise shell like the ARE MX. Does the roof rack setup they offer provide a strong enough mounting point to run a 270-degree awning without ruining anything?

My ideal shell would be the ARE MX with OTR line-x option. Windoors with sliding glass. I love the way my truck silver truck looks with a black softoppper and the OTR option would be very similar while providing extra protection.

My MX came with Yakima rails. They rails are screwed down with i'd say a bolt/nut every 5-6 inches. I dont have a awning mounted so i wouldnt know what it would mount to!

Has anyone drilled or screwed into the inside of the shell? I want to mount some curtains rods for privacy? Any ideas? And no Velcro lol o_O

You will have to through-bolt through the shell. The fiberglass is not thick enough to hold screw threads.

If you use a pan head screw, you can probably get by without a washer on the outside (for looks.) Use stainless steel screws, and silicon sealer in the hole to prevent water intrusion.

New addition from Christmas! I typically rock a tri-fold soft tonneau, but wanted to be able to haul taller items without messing with tarps and wind. Also filled some of the tailgate gaps with rubber foam strips. Too bad dust can get in from the plenty of other holes and gaps. There sure are a lot of areas for dust ingress in our beds!

Picking up my OP4 in mid March… running stock engine and springs, 6 spd MT… and trying to figure out what I’m going to have to do the Pro to pull it more easily. Any other suggestions? Would love the help!

Any advice on where to get a shell window replaced/fixed? Just bought a Century topper for my truck that's in great condition but the rear window was smashed/broken. When I say rear window I mean the window where the tailgate/back of the truck is, not the window that touches the cab.

Was trying to do it myself with plexiglass before the weather turned crap but had a really hard time measuring/cutting. Tried reaching out to Century and have not heard back.

You're better off using the "find a dealer" feature on their website, then contacting ones near you. They only sell caps through shops that carry their products. I imagine it would be the same for replacement parts.

I do know that they are available, at least for the LEER product. I have a replacement that will be installed on a new topper I purchased last year that was installed incorrectly by the dealer staff.

    Isn't Century a Leer product?

yes from the dealer that installed my Leer 180 spring of 2021. It was replaced under warranty due to failure of the mounting brackets/screws which hold it to the main structure. The retaining screws above the window on the framework in the inside started popping out and they were stripped. Leer warrantied the entire back window and door.

Anyone have issues with their shell shifting from one side to the other. I have loosened all the bolts and repositioned it but it keeps shifting to one side.

How is it attached? Bolts obviously, but to the T-slot track or over the lip of the cap?
