Just did the full kicker speaker swap on my 21 TRD OR AC with the 6x9s in the front doors, Subaru tweeters in the dash and 6.5s in the AC doors. Sounds a lot better, much less muddy in mids and highs(and I’m not an audiophile by any means so I can’t begin to elaborate further into the sound ha.) However Personally I would move that mod farther down the list for any thinking of it, nice but not a NEED. DIY tip: buy the plastic pry tools off Amazon for interior panels. Screwdrivers work but mar up panels a bunch. Also when reinstalling trim, take clips off the door and install on door trim before putting the trim piece back. Otherwise ALL your GOD DAMN clips will push back through the door and you’ll have to BAND AID with DUCT TAPE until more fasteners ship in, UGH.

i did the same exact thing you did and yes broken plastic clips. issue i have when playing EDM the bass vibrates the front door panels to the point it sounds like blown speakers. i put my hand on the panels and can feel the vibration, please let me know if you have the same issue and also if you might know of a fix.

I did just about the same except I used the Kicker 46CSC674 6-3/4" for the rear. I really notice the difference in the sound quality when i'm sitting in a parking lot waiting for my kids after their activities. I also put sound deadening mat inside the doors behind the speakers. Worthwhile upgrade IMO. Sounds way better than the stock system in my wife's Highlander. I cringe when I turn on the radio in her car.

The fix is to install a sub for your bass instead of blasting the door speakers

Nerf bars, bed mat, anything I can think of!
I’m going back into my doors and sound deadening. Someone on TW and Youtube recommended waiting until the weather is warm (70F?) or the truck is in a warm environment. Plastic is more likely to break in the cold. Someone else recommended putting a piece of electrical tape over the slots (and cutting a slit in the tape) where the clips go in to keep them from falling into the door. I went ahead and ordered more clips because I don’t know if I can wait until spring and I’ll probably break some anyway! I also want to add an amp, too. The clips are pretty cheap on Amazon. I hope this helps. Not sure about bass vibrating the door panels but maybe noico or something works.

I've never had a door vibration problem with my setup. I'm not thumpin' bass regularly but i've cranked it a few times to embarrass the kids.

Where to get good sound deadening material? What works best. I'll add it when I upgrade speakers but I'd like to start applying it anywhere and anytime I have pa els off and chassis/body exposed.

Yes , place fasteners like these on door trim panel before replacing panel. These are the ones I lost into the door when tying to push the panels back on the door frame. Amazon makes others kinds of factory-Esk fasteners if u lost them as well. Solved my duct tape panel vibe problem. The factory clips are still down in my door but I don’t hear them rattling I don’t think. Hope this helps.

Fits perfectly between the rear seats, and makes a nice armrest back there. I want to build a custom stealth box at some point but haven't had time

Please, allow me to be the first to applaud the fact that your kicker has grown a healthy beard. o_O:rofl:

My drivers side speaker does the same thing, but only once in a while. Thought it was blown when I first heard it, then the noise stopped for a while, then came back and is on and off. I noticed that when I turned the radio off altogether it will still make the same noise when going over a bumpy road, so I'm hoping there's just something loose in there, but I'm not tearing apart the door until we get some some warmer weather.
