May someone share advice on tacoma trim models?

I will be living in a harsh winter climate that lasts 6-7 months out of the year.

I will be doing small town driving, trailing, hydro/logging gravel roads, and 1500 km drive’s 4-6 times a year.

When it comes to the offroad, how beneficial are they to the above mentioned activities/climate?

Are the pro features worth it?

Could the sport suffice? *Only way to get long bed with double cab?

Rear lock diff, bilstein shocks vs sport tuned and no lock diff

please feel free to answer in whatever way you wish.

    thank you

Long bed or short? Automatic or manual? After choosing those two factors, you’ll have a much narrower trim range to choose from.

Sport has no different engine tuning, just different spring rate up front and larger ring gear in the rear diff.

Any of the trims will be just fine for harsh conditions, and an e-locker isn’t necessary (in my opinion, in my experience) for gravel/logging roads.

Anything the PRO models offers, the aftermarket offers better for less $$. +$10k Pro trim can add lockers, gears, tires, shocks to an sr5 and save money. But you wont have the leatherette seats and fancy radio. The Pro model is part convenience (ready out the box, except for tires), part sales gimmick, part “lifestyle”, part interior enhancements.

All trims essentially share the same “bones”, and can be improved easily in the aftermarket.

Good luck choosing and finding dealer availability!
