Agree. Price will vary based on what you want and need. I built a waggy44 and mate it to a 04 taco and use a majority of used parts and got it running with used but decent 37s for under $10k.

So far, my current built parts list exceeded $30k. But that's litterily everything from engine performance to drivetrain, the whole 9 yards.

I'm looking forwardto see what you can come up with. I've got a couple of years left on the house and then it's time to start chopping up my 07 Tacoma. I might send you a PM if you don't mind, just to see if there's any details on what you have going on if that's alright.

    what are you building?

I never know how far to take the taco. I think eventually ill have to build something on the side.
Been thinking about building a sammy as a trail rig. something mild on leafs, 30" tires, fully locked.

I decided to rebuild the old YJ that’s been sitting in a barn for the last 20 years. In my early life I made a lot of misguided decisions with it throwing ton of bolt on parts and it worked well enough but I decided to restore it while improving drivability, moderate lift etc.

Somehow that turned into a complete body off frame rebuild, double triangulated suspension, 1-ton axles, a stretch, new drivetrain, etc.

Im in the same boat kinda.... LT kits are 12-15k all in and dont get that much performance boost for that kind of money. 1st gen kit is about 10k in parts so cant imagine it being 40k for the same thing in a 3rd gen.

    Stock-ish
Where are you getting your front 60 from  Here in the Pnw, a front 60 starts out at 1400, in the same condition as the titanic. 5 years I managed to get a stock chev 60 in okay shape for 900.

Shopped around on eBay. The trick with eBay is you don’t search for the axle itself (e.g. Ford Dana 60, etc) because you’ll get links already pulled parts or cleaned axles which are more premium. You search for wrecked trucks with the axle you need. They are typically being sold from a junkyard.

$430 for this one with $150 freight, could offer $400, looking at <$600 OTD. Some places offer free freight as well.

10k for all the work done by you would be a good budget to think of. Other wise a shop and all the parts would be way over 10k depending on how crazy you want to go.

Heck, most shop will charge $5~$7k for just labor for a 3 link front end with rear spring. Parts is extra.

Take that $5k and buy yourself a good welder, good plasma cutter, and decent band saw. Or add another 2-3k on top and also get a tube bender and plasma table.

Yep... can be more, depending on axle type and choice of suspension.....

*7-10k labor for drop off turn key crawler
*5-13k for front and rear axle. Custom will be in the upper range if you go that route
*5-9k for CO, leaf, beadlock and tires
    *2-3k for crawlbox and driveline
*~3k for random stuff such as ram, hi flow pump, steer box etc

This is a general range.... price varies if buying new vs used as well

Some werewolf portals for 38’s are almost at better option at 15k.
