X-Runner body kit?

Hello peeps! Hopefully I’m in the right thread but here’s my situation. I have a 2012 Tacoma SR5 prerunner that I want to convert to an X-Runner using a body kit of some sort. I was hoping you guys can help me find a body kit from a website or something that way I can be on the right direction with my build. I should probably post some pictures of my mode of transportation for an idea.
Don’t mind the V6 badge, trying to get rid of it with a custom badge, mines an I4.

 

The X-Runners are built on the 5lug frame/platform, your 2wd Prerunner is built on the 4x4 frame/platform which sits much higher.

I don't think there is a body kit available to match the x-runner's, but even if there was you would need to lower your truck's ride height quite a bit for it to look like an X-Runner. Which will be tricky because it's on the 4x4 frame.

it will take a lot more work than just a body kit. And X-runner suspension won't work on your truck because the frame is different, at least not without a lot of fabrication

it would be much easier to convert a 5lug Tacoma into an X-runner than a 6 lug Prerunner to an X-Runner

It's not hard to lower your 2 wheel drive truck either, there are a lot of threads on TW about it.

He just wants the same look, it's easy to do.

 

ah, the word 'convert' threw me off then, thought he was wanting to turn his Prerunner into a full fledged X-runner

I’m liking the side skirts already, I believe I did find a drop kit for the truck. Just need to find some Nitto or Michelin tires.

 

I’m def feeling these skirts, but that front bumper… looks like it’s a smiling mouth! Reminds me of the original Dodge Neon bumper… lol

Yeah the front bumper is a little off I did find the front valances instead. My Dad owns a bumper business so he can help me make the appropriate holes to install them. Not sure where to find the rear bumper and the rear valance.

You can always just buy the genuine stuff direct from your local Toyota dealer

 

yeah this is almost the same one I had in mind. I will be using the same oem struts, unless I can find some other ones.

 

Definitely, it’s going to be a long while till I can get it done but can’t wait.

Nice, I’m liking It already. Yeah I wanted to focus on the body kit as well as some other cosmetics such as a wrap and new wheels and tires before I hit the truck with some performance mods. California likes being a jerk about that sort of stuff but no one will think twice about a Tacoma even having a cold air intake.

 

So I did find all the necessary parts such as the spoilers and the rocker moldings for the x runner parts but should I get just those parts or should I also get the other parts such as clippings and mounting brackets? I think I may get the bumpers as well seeing as it might be better than drilling holes on my current one. Plus I might as well replace the rear bumper with a colored one instead of chrome.

 

Easiest way is to get all the parts. You will definitely need cab mounting brackets to mount side spoiler . You can make support bracket if you want to. 3 brakets on bottom . Need all clips to mount side spoiler. Second pic off internet .

 

The rear bumper spoilers will need slot in bumper so easier to get the xrunner bumper
