Anyone recommend a non OEM wheel speed sensor? When replacing both wheel bearings the wheel sensors needed replaced as well. I installed the HOLSTEIN 2ABS0298. Unfortunately these error code out the ABS lights still. The OEM are $230 a piece and no way I can afford. Any suggestions on how to verify I don’t have another issue?
    Thanks

Did you press the bearings yourself or did you get pre-assembled ones?
    What code(s) are you getting?

    What bearings did you replace?
    The rear are side specific.

If you used the exact same part for both sides, your problem starts from there.

HOLSTEIN 2ABS0298 Fits Front Left or Rear Left

I used pre-assemble hubs, I still got the old ones which I plan to get new bearings and take to local shop. Replaced both front ones. I bought a left one and a right one, just didn’t copy both part numbers into the post. Yeah really can’t mix that up as they won’t fit in wrong side.

Yeah. I meant the bearings themselves were side specific for the rear.

Anyways, there was a member here by the name of Muddinfun. I don’t know what ever happened to him. But he reported that he used the Beck Arnely sensors. I’d trust his word.

As Dm93 asked - what is/are the code/codes that you are getting?

Thanks I will get back on rock auto and buy those. As for the error codes, they are not accurate now as I pulled the sensors and sent back to Rock Auto. My code checker has history I can maybe find, but as I remembered they were fairly direct with the wheel sensors. The truck had history on the left front beforehand and after removing and replace both sides errors out. Sorry I didn’t write down the codes.

Wow 15 bucks for two sensors and free shipping! I gonna try those as I can’t lose but another 15 minutes of installing time. If no change, I buying the $90 dollar Beck Arnely.

    Worth a shot.

I had a wheel bearing go bad and chew up the sensor so I figured it was worth a shot. They work just fine. They’re just a magnetic pick ups.

Why are you replacing them? Did they work with the old hubs? Is it possible the new hubs were assembled incorrectly and the tone rings aren’t functioning properly?

Before just swapping parts, have you checked the harness? Just because the code is for the sensor doesn't mean it IS the sensor. It's not SUPER common, but fairly common for the harness to go because of the constant movement of the front suspension.

Well, I been putting off a lot of front end work, but finally did everything in December time frame. The ABS code for passenger side was active, maybe was the harness but after all the repairs and two new sensors the codes were on both sides. Figured the cheap ones were the problem. If this second set of cheap ones are still throwing codes, then I will go after the harness and wheel hubs. Got the new ones on the doorstep now and will replace sometime soon. Fingers crossed.

Okay I think I got one of the issues solved, the brake light on my dash is off now, but the abs is still light. Per the code checker only right side is bad c0200. I guess I need a new harness. He shows wear on the insulation so probably broke thru the wire from rubbing against the CV axle.
