Can I OV Tune my second Gen 2015 Tacoma? I'm a new owner and I'm hearing about tuning but only for 3rd gen Tacomas

They were banned from the forum. You'll have to email them if you want a tune.

Honestly, their communication here wasn't great and they never posted dyno numbers so it's pretty subjective in terms of what their tune actually did for the 2nd Gen.

From what I understand its only for the 3rd gens, they have a 6spd transmission and what the tune does is changes the shifting points.
Please feel free to correct me if im wrong.

I see on their website they have software for 4.0 2nd gen Tacos. Does anyone know if you can adjust the transmission points to mimic 4.88 gears? Could be a stupid question, but almost 3 grand to re-gear vs. a few hundred dollars for the software.

No, that’s not how it works. Gears are mechanical, nothing you change via these “tuners” will be able to overcome the actual gears.

HPtuners is the way with 2nd gen. Better trans tuning for auto or rev hang delete for manual.

As said above it won't mimic a regear but it will shift better.

@JustDSM was the go to guy but there's a couple other guys working with him for tunes. Custom tunes (sending logs and tunes via email) and using the hp logging software your truck gets tuned for the real world conditions it's used in.
