I would like to add fog lights to my 2013 DC 2.7L which is not pre-wired for fogs. After communicating with some vendors for fogs, I was told the DD SS3, KCs, Morimoto's setups are plug and play in to existing wiring on the trucks. Based on what one vendor told me, they do not provide any additional wiring to complete the setup, including the fog switch in the cab for trucks that are not pre-wired.

I've read through many threads about fog's, many dating back years when folks were installing OEM fog kits. I'd be content with installing OEM's but the kit is no longer sold for my truck, so I've been looking at aftermarket kits.

I appreciate recommendations or links to items needed to get fogs installed. I've never done something like this, so I will be looking for a shop to handle the install. I received one quote $400 for labor only which I thought was high, but then again, I don't know what's all involved, so I am still shopping around at different shops.

    thanks,

Does your front bumper have a place for fog lights, just without the holes cut out? I would assume all you would need would be:

1: Fog Lights ($50-300 depending on what you want)
2: Fog light mounts behind bumper/fog light bezels if you don't have them
3: Dual leg wiring Harness (~$25)
    4: Switch (~$20)
5: Illumination harness for switch if you don't want to cut/splice/tap factory wires (~$20)

Very easy to install yourself to save some money.

yes, my bumper has the locations for fog's. I know I can pop out the black round piece of the fog housing allowing me to install the lights. I'am steering towards the the Morimoto LED fogs where the light housing fits right in to the bumper housing, so no additional mounting brackets needed.

So based on your list, I'd in addition to the fog lights, I need items 3 - 5 to make it work. I will have to look for a step by step write up (ideally with photos), or video on how to do the wiring. Again, I've never done this before.

    I appreciate your response. Thanks.

I just installed a set of these and they put out a lot of light, really happy with them so far.

This is the wiring harness you'll need. You can either change the harness to the factory style plug (which will require buying the truck side connector) or just cut off the factory plug from the fog lights and use the connectors included with the harness. You can use the cheap switch included with the harness, or cut that off and use a factory style switch that will mount in the dash. I went with CH4x4 switches for mine.

CaliRaised LED has a decent installation video on their website for their lightbars that shows how to run the harness, which will basically be the same for your fog lights. What they don't show is how to connect the switch to illuminate with your dash lights, but it's an easy change if that that's what you want to do, especially if you get an illumination harness (a member on here makes and sells them) which will save you from having to cut into factory wires. If you don't know how to solder, environmental splices can be used for waterproof connection of the wires.

Thanks, nice fog lights and price. The kit is for a 2016+ Tacomas and I have a 2013. Not sure they would be a direct install in my 2013, although the mounting points kind of look similar to OEM but not sure? As to the wiring, anything to keep it as simple as possible is good for me, so i can leave the wiring in the package as-is and will see how the fog switch looks. I do like the CH switch. Will find the one to fit in the blank pop outs on my dash where the OEM would go. I did a quick search for z-offroad led fogs for my year tacoma but nothing pops up. I will keep searching.

Thanks again, greatly appreciate all the info you're providing.
