Hey guys with gas prices higher than Cheech and Chong these days, I noticed from empty to filling it up and rounding it to the last dollar, It only took 70.5 liters from empty to full. Thought these were 80 litre tanks on these trucks.

Empty isn't really empty. I bet you there's 10L past empty

Agree, plus you physically cannot fill any tank completely with gasoline. Vapor is trapped, even with canisters doing their best to trap it.

70 is as far as I would push it anyways.

I bank on my tank being 80L. I get the red warning light @~65L, meaning I’ve got 15L left till I run right out, meaning almost 100 km hwy.
I do not run my tank to the red warning light on purpose or often, as the fuel is needed to cool the fuel pump.

Sometimes you just need to hit 0km to empty to feel alive

Most i filled was 76L at one time.

It was exhilarating knowing that at any given second while driving up the 403 to Ancaster, that i could just be out of gas.
do i have 80L tank? or a 78L tank? Maybe i had a 75L tank and it was just fumes and sheer anger alone all the way up.

you always get a little more gas when you look at the needle differently.

With my 2017 TRD Sport I was getting 720 km's (summer tires) per tank. After a fill up, the Till Empty range would say 645 km's to empty and never get higher, even though I was surpassing it everytime. My new 2022 TRD Sport is only getting 600 km's at best (with snows on), and after a fill up, the Till Empty range is 555. I'm wondering if there is a 10 extra liters sitting in a reserve tank past empty. So to get the full range of our 80 litre tanks we need to drive 80ish km's after empty? Must be something new I swear I used to put 80 liters in the 2017. I do 105 to 110 kms in cruise mainly up and down the 400 Hwy to get this range.

There is a 10L in reserve/ left in the tank after hitting E. unfortunate but you cant fit 10L into it as there are vapors
