i searched the forums and couldn't find this anywhere. figured i'd post up for others.

i wanted more light when hooking up my sled trailer in the dark. the inside edge of my topper door seemed like an out-of-the-way location.

i used this LED light strip and this switch. pics below. let me know if you want more info or pics of the mount-up.

can't believe i waited so long to do this. it's a game-changer and doesn't cost much.

Great idea. And I like where you mounted it so it doesn’t mess with the lower edge of the door frame mating with the tailgate.

Looks great. Nice ARE MX too.

Where did you mount the switch? Did you just run the LED strip along the bottom of the glass? or on the metal part just below that?

    thanks @betterbuckleup and @Madjik_Man

i mounted the switch inside the topper on the driver's side near the strut mounting point. the LED strip is mounted on the aluminum frame holding the glass.

added a couple more photos to show this.

i tapped into the power that i ran for the dome lighting in my topper.
it runs from the battery, along the frame to the rear of the truck and then up thru the driver's side taillight into the truck bed.

I've been wanting to do something for awhile like this. I do have a fuse block that I was going to use to branch out more and keep the lights separate
