Muscle Shoals Studio Tour.

Truth-in-lending - while driving through Northern AL, my girlfriend exclaimed "We're going to be right near Muscle Shoals!!"

I had no idea what she meant, but let her direct us to this unassuming building where music history - music legacy was born. Twas upon the baby grand in the photos Free Bird was finalized. It's the piano you hear in the original recording of Old Time Rock 'n Roll and countless more. Going through this tour was like finally finding out the ingredients to some of my favourite food.

There was a documentary about Muscle Schoals on Netflix I believe. I highly recommend checking it out. A lot of history there.

 

I saw it and it is worth taking the time to watch if you like music.
It wasn't just Skynrd who recorded there. I remember them saying the Rolling Stones and Allman Brothers to name a few recorded there too.

 

Muscle Shoals Sound Studio is a recording studio in Sheffield, Alabama formed in 1969 by four session musicians known as The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section[2] who had left nearby FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals to create their own recording facility. Over the years, artists who recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio included The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, George Michael, Wilson Pickett, Willie Nelson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Joe Cocker, Levon Helm, Paul Simon, Bob Seger, Rod Stewart, Tamiko Jones, Cher and Cat Stevens.
