Finally got my strut assemblies fixed and installed. Billy 5100's with Wheeler's T1's on the 0 notch. Love how everything is tight in the steering and responsiveness. Now I can feel how bad my tires are. lol

Wheels and tires up next (and a new carrier bearing, just in case).

Lifted my $5k steal of a truck and stuck the Bumpers and winch on it from the old 1st gen.

Can say I'm pleased with the flex on it! Gonna trail test it this weekend!

I took all the weight off of that x member and all the heavy things in my bed are solid mounted to the frame by 1/2" bolts.

We'll cut off the wild ends and glue some hoops to the bumper this weekend.

While we have the bumper off, we'll fix or replace the winch, and strip and repaint the bumper.

    Thanks man.

It was a buddy at work who knew I loved tacomas. He knew he could get twice that.

Had to do some work to it including cutting sections of frame out and welding in fresh steel but it's good to go now!

    Ok, wierd question

@Empty_Lord you might be able to help me out with this. (or anyone else that may want to chime in)

My kid in Colorado is replacing the slip yoke on his driveline. He can't get it to compress far enough to get it on the diff flange. He needs about 1/2 inch more.

I told him to remove the zerk because he's probably dealing with trapped air. He says he can't get the zerk to come off.

But here's another question. He has a 97 and he bought a salvage slip yoke off a 2000. I know the leafs are different between the two. But I believe the axle was still positioned in the same spot (not sure) the question I have is, does anyone know if the slip yoke is shorter on the years with the shorter leaf springs?

No should be exact same. Frame didn't ever change in that regard.

Probably full of grease. He should be able to pull it apart hopefully. Mark it so he can put it back togeth right. If he can pull it out and clean out the extra great he should be okay.

Hadn't even thouht of the extra grease maybe packed up in there. Good point!

I really wish he could get that grease fitting off. I think it would help a lot. He could bottom out the slip yoke and push a bunch of grease out the hole where the fitting goes.

Yea she’s just too full of grease. I believe the parts should be the same.

if the zerk won’t come out just remove the hole slip joint (after marking it) and clean out the hole
