Hi all, I have a 2019 Trd off road. Is it possible to mount 285/75r16’s on stock Off road rims and not have any rubbing or have to make any modifications/cuts?
I have ordered Bilstein 6112’s for a front lift and will be putting 5100’s on back end(undecided on block or aal)
I have been trying to find info on other threads, but getting more confused.
    Thanks

Some have rubbing and some don't. Alignment is the key. Most run aftermarket UCA's to avoid rubbing.

I installed a 1.8" lift in front with UCA's and 265/70R17's. I had to remove the front mud flaps, cut the wheel well moulding and still rub on the fender liner.

The best answer to tire size questions is, Toyota already put the largest size tire on the truck that guaranteed will not rub, from factory. Anything else is a crap shoot.

You need a zero offset. Positive rubs the control arms and a negative rubs the cab mount.

The OR wheel is +25mm offset and probably will rub. Like was said above you need to get closer to 0 offset, either with spacers or different wheels.

Mine has 6112s and 1 1/4 blocks. 28575R16 Zero Offset KMC Hubcentric Wheels. Didn't need UCAs. Alignment was done correctly and is spot on with no rubbing. PXL_20220327_195029887.MP~2.jpg

My SR5 Anthracite Wheels didn't have zero offset. They rubbed slightly. New wheels fixed itIMG_20200505_094207.jpg
These were my old wheels. Slight rub on the UCAs

Thank you all. Yeah figured if I was gunna lift it high enough for 33’s would have to change the UCA’s. I couldn’t find anyone who had info on wheel offset.
Might just keep it simple and put the slightly larger 265/75r16 with just enough lift for level.

    No.

255/85/16 is the biggest tire you can get on a 3rd gen without rubbing.

The first question is... What 285/75/16 tire can be mounted on a stock 7 inch rim to begin with.

To answer your question, no. You need to do minor plastic modification to fit 285. I have 285/75/16 on stock wheels and stock UCA & 1.25 inch wheel spacer. I had to remove the front mud flaps and did a very minor plastic trim at the corner where the front mud flaps located. No rubbing after that.I didn’t remove the rear mud flaps because it’s not causing problems.

I’m not sure of any that are recommended on a 7” wheel, but a lot of people do it anyway and I personally haven’t ever seen anyone report any issues doing it.

Aren't you too short and too young to drive that truck?

285s will fit the wheel fine. But they will rub the stock UCA. You will need spacers to clear them. Also will need to slightly cut some plastic and bumper.

Strange, I had 265/70/17 and they only “touched” front mudflaps. Now I’m running 255/80/17 (33”) on a 2” lift with mudflaps and no rubbing whatsoever. Stock UCAs.
