I tow a 4000 lb micro Minnie. With only the driver the scales show 2680 front, 2700 rear, 4180 trailer. That is with WD hitch. Seems to drive fine. Wind and hills are a pain but doable.

I was looking at a micro Minnie 2108 and the GVWR for the 2020 is 7,000lb (which is over my taco limit 6400) and the 2021 GVWR is only 5,000lb. Legally would I be allowed to tow the 2020 even though the GVWR is over the Taco's limit?

Some people say ‘use the gvwr because you will fill it up’. I do not subscribe to this method. The micro minnies have more capacity than most other trailers due to the dual axles on relatively small campers. I would have to have to add 3000 lbs of stuff to load it to gvwr. We pack light. I don’t think there is a legal rule about using the gvwr. We have a 2108TB. New ones have a lower gvwr but I’m
Not sure that there is really a difference. They may just be rating it lower so people think it can be towed with smaller vehicles.

I don't recall who/where but I was always told even if you don't fill the trailer up to the GVWR of 7000lb you'e not allowed to tow a trailer with a bigger GVWR than what your truck allows. There's really no info out there, I guess the insurance company would be the one to answer that.

!995 Fleetwood Mallard 3500#dry 5500# GVWR. So far, I've only towed it home, but doubt I'll have any issues towing it. It came with a WDH and I'll be getting a sway bar.

At one of our frequent RV "Resorts" since it's usually not too hard to get a spot at the last minute instead of booking nine months ahead of time like most parks in Washington State right now. Silver Cove RV Resort

@mosccat How was the Taco pulling up there? Do you have the KDMax Pro tune?

No tune, taco did good. Was floating between 2nd & 3rd during the last 1,000 ft climb, and 45mph limit. Kept pace with a RAM in front towing a smaller TT.

The biggest struggle the taco has is keeping 55/60 into a 15mph+ headwind. Todays journey was awful in that sense.

we went thru the Columbia River Gorge with 30-40 mph headwinds. Got 8.6. Hanging back about 4 car lengths behind a semi really helps. He can see you in his mirrors and you get some draft which helps keep you in 4th more consistently.

On the first pass today I had a semi truck tuck in behind me on the climb, he had plenty of opportunities to come past but he was happy to draft me for 40 miles.

Quick to reply...that's me! Just happened on this thread. It seems we have similar looks. Same trailer, same color taco...just a few differences. We haven't had many opportunities the last couple seasons due to my work travel schedule, but looking forward already to next year, being able to get out. Added a couple solar panels, lithium ion batteries, and an inverter this year... so we should be able to get away and play for as long as we have fresh h2O.
    Cheers!

Nice! I commend your exceptional taste! LOL. We love ours. We throw the MTB bikes in back and/or SUP and kayaks and head out for camping! Better than therapy. Would like to get Li batteries at some point and solar. For now we have a generator than can power everything.

I like the clean look without decals. Makes me want to remove the ones on my bigfoot, but then the old people wouldn’t know what I have
